As users are directed to use platforms outside of Reddit in the upcoming blackout, specifically open-source sites, r/Solarpunk lists slrpnk.net on it list of sites to use outside of Reddit, leaving a good opportunity to tell people about Lemmy and other decentralized platforms

Yes one of their admins showed up and asked here.

The Reddit /r/solarpunk admins seem to favour their own group on https://raddle.me/f/solarpunk somewhat, but we still already got a lot of new users here that explicitly mentioned the subreddit.

That’s cool of them to reach out and ask. A good time for solidarity in the face Reddit’s changes even if it’s not their platform of choice. More decentralized platforms can’t be bad and that’s good to know that Reddit users are giving this instance and other parts of Lemmy a chance because of it

came here after seeing r/videos go down, remembered hearing about lemmy at some point but didnt bother looking into it after getting confused initially

i actually did see slrpnk.net mentioned on reddit before, but didnt know about federated internet and so wasnt really interested in checking a site devoted solely to solarpunk every other day

It’s great that they provide recommendations unlike some other subs that just join the strike without any future plan
