Yeah… After a user here on Lemmy pointed out that the AdGuard app on mobile made a lot of strange requests to ads services, I gave it a try myself with PCAPdroid and seeing all thoses requests made by only opening the app made me think twice about AdGuard…
Removed all their services from my network and a happy piHole + quad9 user since !
Yep, but only if you familiar, otherwise it can range from 1day to a week depending how complex our setup is (OCID,Fail2ban,reverse proxy, self-signed miniCA…).
But once your setup is all ready and you get all the bell and whistle it’s just a matter of 5mins (and very fun too if you have time to spend !)

Yeah it’s not, however you can configure syncthing as a 1way sync solution and I was emphasizing that this still isn’t a cloud solution.
Don’t get me wrong, syncthing is great and I use it everyday, but syncthing is not a cloud solution.

Syncthing is not a cloud solution though… Rather a sync solution. What’s the difference? If you delete the file on 1 device it gets deleted on every device who shares the directory…
While a Cloud solution, your file is on a central server and you can download/delete that file on your device without affecting the server.
Cloud service ≠ Sync service but have a similar purpose.
Edit: And doin’ 1 way sync is still not a cloud service !

They got hit by a lot of negative reviews and bad publicity those last years. Myself gave it a try last years and while it isn’t a bad distro from first impression… The fact that they add bookmarks into my firefox and Manjaro bootscreen at start gave me a strange feeling… Specially because this happend after the bios bootscreen hack. And I know this is not related but it still gave me strange gut feeling and always follow your guts !

Somthing you need to be very careful is your clipboard when you copy/past from the internet to your terminal. It can contain hidden malicious code… Nasty shit !

Yeah… Can you tell me where to change this? This article is not very clear, who, where or what… I’m running headless Debian 12 and can’t even find any variable related to org.freedesktop.udisks2.modify-device or any polkit rule in /etc/polkit-1/rules.d/.... and not even a PolicyKit package installed on my system (polkit?)…
The only thing that comes close is /usr/share/polkit-1/...

udisks ships by default on almost all Linux distributions
udisks2 is not even installed by default on my debian 12 system.
Just use AuroraStore to avoid google play account. You can even pay the Symfonium creator through a hacky workarround and get your full access without Google Play.

Not sure if every audio file is upscaled, however I had a few files who clearly were 128kbs mp3 upscaled to ~192kbs opus !
personally I cannot hear any compression in the audio.
100% agree on that xD !! However, I’m some kind of strange audio freak hoarder. If the spectogram of an audio doesn’t reflect my standards (not upsacles audio files…) I won’t keep/archive it !
Do note that I didn’t used a paid YouTube account… Maybe they don’t serve HQ audio files to free users? Dunno, but after some digging into the spectograms I was not happy seeing how bad they looked !
