  • The best thing movie goers can do, is stop worshipping distributers like A24, most of “their” movies people love, were already made and winning film festivals before A24 even heard about them.

We need to start supporting the writers/directors/actors/crew who make these amazing films on shoestring budgets for almost no pay.

Not Uncle moneybags who buys it for a few million and then makes hundreds of millions back when people watch it in theaters.

Like, I’d hate to do the math for how many movies with the budget of Obsession/backrooms we could have gotten for a single Spiderman.

But large studios want a handful of movies everyone watches.

  • Lol…

second quarter financial results where Cineplex swung to a profit and higher overall revenues on box office draws like The Odyssey and Michael, in addition to younger audiences embracing breakout horror pics in Obsession and Backrooms.

    So…

    1. The Odyssey, shot on film with practical effects by the biggest director of his generation.

    2. Michael, about the largest popstar ever

    3. Obsession, cheap Indie film with practical effects

    4. Backreoms, cheap Indie film with practical effects

People are just tired of green screen mass appeal slop.

Give them the option of anything else, and people are desperate for that and are willing to put up with the movie theater experience again.

No one wants to pay $30 to watch a superhero movie that will be on streaming in a month and spends a third of it’s run time setting up projects that may never materialize.

The takeaway should be “start making better movies again”.

  • Using a chatbot isn’t the same as talking to real people, even people who won’t admit that, understand it.

That’s what’s happening when you see people keep posting AI slop for other humans to see it.

The person who posts it thinks it’s great, but even if they say they enjoy using a chatbot as much as talking to humans, they don’t just keep talking to their chatbot about it, they show it to people and want the people to be as supportive as the AI and no longer know how to respond to negative feedback.

The obvious solution would be they just keep talking to their chat bots about it, but the chatbots suck and can’t hold a conversation so the users keep circling back to real humans.

They need to just skip the chatbots all together, and admit that it’s not a replacement for actual social interaction

  • What?

So you think if someone replies, but gives a heads up they won’t see any other replies…

    They should be banned?

That doesn’t “fuel drama” it literally can’t because once one account blocks another, they don’t interact anymore.

Although, in my experience a lot of people do take that as some huge insult and then run around trying to stir drama in unrelated threads and just making shit messy.

But 99.999% of the time that’s why they were blocked.

If someone is obsessive about social media and clearly won’t let things go, a lot of people will just block them.

And when they crash out and spread that drama everywhere…

They’re going to get banned for being messy.

    Edit:

And to be clear, just blocking someone like that without saying anything, won’t change the result.

Plenty of accounts will get impatient and start double replying, then start replying to other comments brining up how they’re being “avoided” and insulting the account that stopped replying.

When dealing with people like that, there’s nothing you can do except block them and eventually they’ll latch on to a new target.

Like, there’s a lot of people who feel ignored in real life, so when someone doesn’t give them attention on line, they crash out over and over again. No one is obligated to keep interacting with anyone else on social media.

  • He doesn’t care about companies, he bankrupts them constantly…

losses in the three months through June came as the company branched into new ventures including crypto.

Neither him nor his family is holding any of that.

They bought a bunch for nothing. Then had the company buy a shit ton.

Then after the rubes stopped buying, they sold their personal stashes, and let the company take the hit on crypto loss, to cover other gains. that way they could “insider trade” the crypto dump tip out in waves to different people.

At the end of it, this loss covers gains elsewhere.

  • No one expects you to be an expert on every other countries political system…

But come on bro, you think America is a democracy and the people get what they vote for?

Like, even “voted for” as in popular vote doesn’t matter.

States like Cali that always go D and send all their electorate college votes, don’t get the turnout they would if votes actually counted.

What you did is like telling an abused spouse:

    Shouldn’t have married him stupid

Ignoring the wife was 16 and pregnant at the wedding and the baby’s not born yet.

Just completely ignorant and hateful, more like trump than you’ll ever know, including the false feeling of superiority

    Edit:

    I take it back…

All your account does is talk about America, with that level of interest, it is a reasonable expectation that by now you e learned the basics of the political system you care so much about

  • Gee…

It’s almost like while vertical integration can maximize a corporations profits, it means a single problem fucks up the entire nations food supply…

And that we need government regulations to ensure we have options, which also ensure there’s competition between suppliers, resulting fair prices.

If a single corporation supplies the majority of produce, they can charge whatever the fuck they want.n it’s effectively a monopoly because one when supplier goes down, the few others can’t fill the gap.

This a problem that either needs fixed, or will keep having worse and worse consequences.

  • What do you mean?

If you’re lonely because you don’t have people to hang out with, you need more friends.

If your existing “friends” are shit, you need to not be friends with them. If that puts you in the situation above, then you now need new friends to compensate for losing the shitty ones.

But most people have the drive to meet new people in their teens and twenties, and by 40s you’re fullon in prune friends mode, no new friends.

Occasionally that also leads to needing more friends. Especially if you got pruned instead of pruning.

    But it’s really that simple.

If you’re lonely often, you need new friends. Doesnt automatically mean get rid of the old ones.

  • It’s Apple…

Not everyone with an iPhone is tech illiterate, but everyone who is tech illiterate has an iPhone

Those people might think that the only way for their data to get from one phone to another, is them typing a password onto the phone physically.

If they were offered this, they may realize that Apple could just clone their phone and everything on it.

Don’t forget how many social media savvy young celebrities had nudes leak a few years ago because they were iPhone users and iphones back everything up to the cloud by default. Most users most likely never realize that’s happening.
