  • I get what you mean…kinda negates the ‘unique’ wording there, but the outspoken downside to so, so many handhelds which are released (and touted to be) in ‘competition’ with the Steam Deck tend to omit them. The LeGo got closest with the right-hand side one, which is still kinda small.

I know it’s worded poorly, but I can (if I peer) still see what I’m trying to convey even with how its set out there!

  • As an aside, I also wanted to thank you for your writing in general. I used to do a lot of writing (heck, I did three quarters of a journalism degree a lifetime ago), and the effort and quality you put into this stuff has definitely started that itch in me again…

    Please do!!!

I’d love to read more from ‘our’ circle of people. I find there’s…not enough, which is (in part, anyway) why I like to try my best at sharing this kind of thing. Especially in an atmosphere where short videos are consumed like crazy, where A.I. can slap together (poorly) someone’s writing, and where the big sites are just click-bait or begging for subscriptions and support.

IDK, I’d love to read whatever you’d be writing!

And thank you so much for writing this, I’m gonna link the RomM team to a new convert :P

  • Once you’ve sunk some time into Cyberpunk, you can really open it all up with the tons and tons of fun mods via Nexus!!! And when I say ‘tons’…boy do I mean it!

Cyberpunk, just like The Witcher 3 holds a special place for me, even reading the title makes me stop and wonder maybe its time I played it just one more time…

Their DLC, Phantom Liberty is just drop-dead gorgeous to play though!

  • Ahhhh my friend, who is a dev for Decky Loader, is obsessed with Celeste, and far-far-far better than I will ever be with it AND Vivid/Stasis… AA is that you?!

I’ve put in soooo much time on Stardew over the years that I think its one of those few games I just can’t go back to…I shudder to think of just how much time :)

  • Its funny, I just think I have a thing for the underdogs. So I was always drawn to GOG, their stance on DRM-free gaming and games preservation in general don’t hurt though, of course!

Its taken me until now to even really look at Steam, even for my Steam Deck. I will admit, Steam’s cloud saves and pre-shader compilation is a blessing to game with.

  • I’m so glad you enjoyed it!

And even more so that you’d trust it would be worth a read purely because my other posts have been a nice read! That is so nice to read - thank you!

I find I check in with Gardiner’s blog each day now, I love clean and ‘pure’ sites and articles where the intention isn’t affiliate links or ads, or begging for new Patreon supporters…just the topic at hand!

Again, thank you so much :)

  • Sometimes (often) those ‘latest’ builds don’t work so well, and things break. Its a classic problem which plagues EmuDeck, and why long-term users warn people

if things are working, don’t update!

That very thing which annoys some people - no bleeding-edge latest updates on emulators, to me is stability and a relief. I trust the devs of RetroDECK to update only when things need it!

And I also have it all on my SD card! Its the best idea, roms, emulators, bios, mods, texture packs. I like how it keeps things organized and clean :)
