93·7 months agoI don’t even have to search. I already know it’ll be preinstalled/hidden opt-out based on current tech industry trends :/
I’d usually say that “I’m hoping for the best, prepared for the worst” but honestly at this point I think I have 0 hope, and I’m only prepared for the worst.

This will undoubtedly have a major impact against Microsoft and even perhaps Google.
AI-powered productivity features.
Everything is pretty sweet except ^the AI productivity features. Hopefully the AI portions are optional opt-ins rather than it being preincluded opt-outs.

Linux@programming.dev•When did you go full Linux nerd?English
9·7 months agoWhen I got frustrated with Windows around 2019 and I had spare time I decided that enough is enough and spent a couple of days to take the time to learn Arch Linux and all of its quirks.
Around 2020 I started tinkering with NixOS as well which culminated as my NixOS configuration.
Although at this point I’m going back to Arch Linux as I actually know how to fix and make modifications faster and better than I could on NixOS.

3·7 months agoYou can do unit conversions, great binary/hex/oct calculation
Ok you’re actually right about those improvements👍 and yeah those were actually really handy.
Are you sure it can do visualization, graphing, and dates? Is this on W11? I’m not on my computer atm but I don’t remember those functions/features.

Linux@programming.dev•Bcachefs Is Now Able To Auto-Fix A Few More Fsck ErrorsEnglish
2·7 months agoJust curious but has anyone tried Bcachefs?
I haven’t due to a number of concerns:
- no time unfortunately, got other higher priority tasks.
- heard of corruption issues.
- been hearing and seeing more news of EXT4 and BTRFS improvements.
- Kent’s previous behaviors have kinda dampened/soured Bcachefs’s hype for me :/
Very adorable🤗❤️

7·7 months agoSeveral times as viewable here on the Fediverse; this account, my P.D. account, accidentally posted a comment to the wrong post as viewable in the modlogs😣, CCing lemmy.ca admins and P.D. admins.
Making mistakes all the time is painful; hopefully I’ve repeated less of them as time continues or so I hope anyways…
