Still worth a watch if you haven’t in a while. The way the interviewer cracks always gets me.

Ok, but that will still need to be handled otherwise it’ll shake the building to it’s knees.

Well… It’s 9GW of waste heat. Same as the energy supply.

They’re not being built, and you know they’re not because of exactly these kind of figures. They’d need multiple additional power stations to feed them. The kinds of places that cost governments tens of billions.
Then all that energy needs to go somewhere so you probably need to add 25% more to power a cooling system. Something that can dissipate that atom bomb of energy into the environment every hour.
Without the support infrastructure the compute is useless, and nobody is talking about the infrastructure because it’s impossible.

📣 Yes he can 📣

I can’t read the article because of the paywall, but I really hope France are going to stay on station and not get involved. Maybe clear up a few Somali pirates.

Breaking Bad worked for me, but BCS was too long between some seasons and when I came back I didn’t care anymore. Also BB had a lot more episodes per season, so movement over the course of a season was greater.

Which proves homeopathy. I bet you haven’t been plagued with Marilyn Monroe recently.

I wonder how many will return after what will be a fairly long gap. S1 was well done, but after the first episode I felt the plot stagnated. New information was rationed to no more than 1 piece an episode.
Too slow for my liking, plus the protagonist isn’t very likable. Intentionally so, but it makes watching it more of a chore.

Nooooooo
That show was so bad!

Basically a digital B Ark then?
First thing is to realise that accepting it isn’t:
It’s just accepting it as reality so your rational brain can work without your emotional side always getting in the way.
It’s also not necessarily a “one and done” thing. Some days you’ll be better than others, especially initially. Some days you’ll be a mess.

The risk associated with being on a public forum has changed massively. Yes the data was always out there, but the ability to turn it into personally identifying information was not.
People are still grappling with that change.

Scanning people’s entire history for political leanings, etc? That’s some deeply dystopian stuff right there.
Yep. It’s Cambridge Analytica and Palantir level shit.
I’m not sure we have ways of concentrating energy enough to do this. Heat pumps let us move heat, but I’m not aware of anything that can get the target to 100+ degrees Celsius.
