I recently created a Europe community on lemmy.dbzer0.com to act as an alternative to the Europe community on Feddit.org since that one has had some controversy and is becoming less viable for discussing current events in Europe, especially relating to Israel.
The new community allows much of the same content as on the old one but also allows news and discussions related to the conflict in Israel and disallows genocide apologia (can’t believe I have to advertise this as a feature). If that sounds like something you’re interested in I urge you to check out !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com
Even if it’s true that they were sockpuppeting, then the other important question becomes why did they feel the need to evade moderation in the first place? If it’s because their reasonable and legitimate comments opposing genocide were getting removed because some biased mod falsely equated anti-zionism with anti-Semitism, it’s the mod that’s being toxic, not the users.
They got banned originally for being a troll and harassing people, which they’ve continued to do through alt accounts for months. Their comments were anything but reasonable and not at all respectful.
On the flipside, two wrongs almost never make a right. You can however stir up some internet conflict that way. So either it’s true and they’re wrong. Or it’s wrong and everyone is wrong here… But you’re not solving anything.
