Mamdani, a proudly socialist 33-year-old, holds a 44-36 percent lead over over former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo – who was hoping that New Yorkers had short memories, and were ready to re-elect the textbook centrist Democrat.

However, after the disaster of Trump’s first year back in the White House – with everyday American life interrupted by protests, immigration raids, corruption allegations and the unshakebale feeling that the nation is about to enter World War 3… It seems the pendulum is swinging back towards left-wing politics.

It appears that the success of Mamdani isn’t so much a vote against Trumpian politics, but more a vote against the stale nothingness of the Democrats top brass – who, while pitching themselves as the progressive option in America’s political system, very seldom action – or even – offer – left-wing policies.

    1. You’re either naive or living in the past. This might be true when most Americans are not struggling to live paycheck to paycheck, but nowadays the political chaos is the least immediate of the average Americans problems. Your insistence on not recognising this fact is actually very much inline with establishment Democrats thinking.
    2. Another proof that you call anyone to left of you a Tankie. Get out of here with that stupidity.
    3. They also didn’t codify Roe v Wade, didn’t put Trump in jail, didn’t do electoral reform, didn’t provide free medical healthcare. Most of the things you listed are band-aids compared to the cure they should’ve fought for in the first place.

Maybe I believe we’re in the position we’re in because WE HAVEN’T GIVEN DEMOCRATS MORE THAN 50 SENATORS IN OVER 12 YEARS.

Also Tankies aren’t Left, like at all.

Maybe the democrats haven’t gotten more than 50 senators in over 12 years because they haven’t been listening to what their base wants? Maybe they haven’t been listening to what their base wants because people like you keep rewarding them regardless of what they do by telling people to always vote blue?

Maybe its Maybelline, but what’s not a maybe is that you do call anyone to the left of you a Tankie, so you do believe they’re leftists. Personally I don’t, that’s why I have a problem when you keep calling people Tankies for no reason.

Tankie is to centrists what woke is to MAGA. They use it simply to demonize people to their left without regard for what it actually means. That’s why finitebanjo pulls it out every time he’s confronted by a progressive of any sort. He’s associated all progressives with authoritarian communists in his head the same way MAGA associates everyone who isn’t a fascist with the most radical leftists they remember from the SJW OWNED compilations they used to watch.

Tankies believe both sides are bad and that the US state should be toppled, if anything they’re right wing.

That’s just called being a revolutionary, which is practically the purest form of leftist that exists. The left vs right terminology originated during the French revolution, with the left being the revolutionaries and the right being the monarchists. Ever since then the left has meant those with a desire to transform society (typically in an egalitarian direction), now encompassing reformists as well as revolutionaries.

Personally I barely consider folks like you to be leftists. A few tax credits and some minor campaign finance reform can hardly be considered a transformation of society. If anything, you’re the bulwark of the right, always defending the establishment from any major changes while preaching about moderation. You calling yourself a leftist is like sticking your toe in the water and calling yourself a diver.

Maybe it has something to do withever increasingly complex misinformation campaigns and the SCOTUS Citizens United decision.

Also I would NEVER call anybody further left than me a Tankie, because Tankies are not left.

You just called the guy advocating for more progressive policies for the Democrats a Tankie out of no where. Sometimes, it seems you don’t even know what you yourself were saying. Really not a good look.

If you advocate against the DNC then you’re not advocating for progressive policies.

Also I never actually called them a Tankie, I just said people like them don’t like discussing policies and that Tankies avoid it like the plague, ya’ll collectively accepted the label on your own.

The DNC shoots down Sanders The DNC nominates center-right politicians The DNC pushes pro-corporate, anti-labor policies The DNC takes war-monger money, and pushes for more wars

“If you advocate against the DNC then you’re not advocating for progressive policies.”

One of these things is not like the others

Sanders lost the primary because he couldn’t get as many votes.

The GOP are the corporate party, the DNC are at this point one of the sole sources of taxes and regulations.

The DNC are pro-union, pro wage increase, and pro protections for workers. In contrast, Republicans are out there trying to repeal labor laws to get more children involved in meat packaging industrial plants.

The difference between the DNC and GOP on aggressive foreign affairs is night and day.

But all of that aside, whats your plan once the DNC start losing more seats and Republicans gain a supermajority?

And Sanders didn’t get as many votes, because the DNC teamed up to stop him: “Joe Biden was not picked in 2020 because he was the only person that could beat Donald Trump. He was picked because he was the only person that could beat Bernie Sanders”

The DNC is also a corporate party. They’ve spent billions helping out their friends, while leaving the poor and working class to fend for themselves. Their taxes and regulations are a joke.

If the DNC is pro-union, why do they pick anit-union politicians that shoot down union strikes and efforts? Why did the strip the minimum wage increase from their bill?

They both want to bomb kids, back a genocide, and send immigrants to torture prisons. While yes, they do have differences in foreign policy, those big three are pretty big, and pretty disgusting. If they want votes, maybe they should differentiate themselves, instead of just continuing Republican policies.

My plan is the same as it was when the DNC had a majority: Support parties that actually fight for what I want, and push back on parties like the Republicans and Democrats who fight against what I want.

Haha, there goes the loyalist speak again. You really have no other argument than the tired old “if you don’t support the Democrats, you’re a fascist” one, do you. Must be easy living life with zero nuance like that.

So you’ve attempted to link these people with the label Tankies, and now you blame them for correctly reading your intention? What is this clown show you’re attempting to perform? Do you think we’re stupid or something?
