    I don’t get it. the point was, they do that even when it’s hotter outside. I’m probably missing something, but there was another post recently where OP was furious that they couldn’t keep the window open, and I didn’t get that either.

      An important part of how you perceive the temperature is humidity. And since humans cool down by sweating, a human in an enclosed space will quickly raise the humidity to a point where if feels noticeably hotter, especially if they remain mostly stationary. So, opening a window does bring relief, even if the air outside is hotter.

      It’s not smart, but it does make sense, because it’s usually the right thing to do in warm weather.
