Can confirm. Southern Germany used to be green in June and July now most fields are yellow and all the trees shows sign of heat stress. Rivers are already emptying. However nobody seems overly concerned.
In Berlin the City Hall casually announced they are making plans to ration water if (or better when) needed. So everything under control /s
Southern German checking in, the grass in my garden is yellow and brown, except for the bits the sun doesn’t reach (only to the north and close to the house)
Bordeaux, super un-normal heat all spring, with the allergy-red-alert (from trees etc.) going since around 3 months (also a “record”) :-/
Its all yellow. The last couple years city council keeps suggesting people water the trees voluntarily. There’s enough water here, but the many trees are vital to keep the microclimates bearable.
Remember just 15 years ago when everyone here was like “Global warming won’t affect us here. It’s all so green, we have the mountains, we have snow, it’s not gonna touch us”?
Jesus this is so fucking depressing. Feels like every year it’s “the hottest year on record”, and every year there’s the same old excuses about why we can’t do anything about CO2 levels (which are also at record highs)
