  • What is the line that you are looking for exactly to label someone “poor”? I shared with you lived experience and information about the predatory actions of the military recruitment system and I now feel like you are trying to pick apart my lived experience. I was not poor enough to your standards, the people I was exposed to and shared with you was not a big enough statistic for you, the icing on the cake is just stay in prison. I was trying to point out to you that teenagers, yes teenagers are being manipulated by highly trained used car salesman style tactics. No one I served with was given proper informed consent on what they were actually signing up for.

I do not support the world police that the US military has deemed to self propose themselves as to enforce whatever whim they desire. I am not in support of genocide and think that the US should be held accountable for all current and previous genocides they have contributed to and actively performed. We do not see differently on the fact that the US military should not be going around breaking international laws or violating human rights and the right of sovereignty. The name of the organization is the Department of Defense which is what it should focus on.

  • I may regret responding to you but here goes…Poverty draft IS a real thing and the recruiting tactics are absolutely vile. I joined the Navy after dropping out of local community college working as a busser at a local bar/restaurant living with my grandmother and mother in the same house. The recruiters for all branches of the military are definitely predatory they get quotas to meet and signing up people for high desired or high skill positions gave them extra points. I was told that if I signed up for a 6 year enlistment I would go to college at Charleston University for 2 years, be able to have a 4 year degree after my service as well as not be deployed(ended up doing 3 back to back sea duty tours). Most of the people I served with came from a mix of stories that if played out they would not have had much to offer their families. Many people I directly worked with got in with waivers for criminal offenses and admitted that they would probably have ended up in the system and literally had no other options. The coercion that is used on vulnerable people whos literally brain is still developing is not great.

  • Edward could you back this false information with peer reviewed facts? I know I’m engaging with someone who has blindly drank the Kool aid but this is a cruel policy. In my eyes gender affirming care is vital and I don’t understand the mental gymnastics occurring where picking and choosing what gender affirming care is allowed. Testing and giving military who are assigned male at birth who identify as male testosterone is gender affirming. Is it okay in your eyes for AFAB woman to get breast implants or is this type of gender affirming surgery also an affront to your existence?
