Fair enough, I’m still trying to figure out most of them myself. It’s just the first first distro I used that my son set up for me. It’s a gaming oriented Fedora with KDE and comes preloaded with stuff for playing games. It did seem like it was working pretty well for a lot of stuff, but I went against my son’s advice and started trying to learn the terminal and borked some stuff, so he switched me to vanilla Fedora and now I’m missing stuff I need to run some of the games. I don’t know if anybody else has used it much it that has had any experience. Like I said I’m only on my second distro myself.

They have been exceptionally great about maintaining their old IP with this one. I have some optimism as well :)

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Chicago public servant devoted to bike infrastructure killed by Chicago driverEnglish
15·7 days agoOh geez, the original car was parked and opening its door which caused him to swerve into traffic to avoid the collision with the parked cars door. That’s kind of messed up man. I had just assumed it was going to be somebody intentionally hitting him when it used the term ‘doored’
Three’s going to be more action. RPG? Interesting. Yeah, hopefully they’ll keep supporting the OG as well, I still need to finish that. Damn it. I was playing guild wars 2 basically all through my tethered Android with a third-party app, needless to say, I wasn’t always top choice for raids simply because of my latency. And my skill. And my build. And my attention span. LOL. My dumbass played for about 2 and 1/2, 3 years maybe, and probably dropped over a grand on silly mount skins, toon and inv slots and all the other various upgrades. I felt better doing it though knowing that the game itself wasn’t actually pay to win and had no monthly fees. I should really get back into that game. I have been away far too long from mistlock sanctuary :p

1·7 days agoI’d like to have some home network type of deal set up, I’ve been meaning to look into that. Self-hosting comm more. I don’t really have Internet right now though, aside from my cell phone, so I’m not sure if that would put a damper on things.

That’s a pretty clever theory. I like it

3·7 days agoKind of janky but maybe something like this? https://soundclouddl.cc/ or something like this perhaps https://github.com/archisvaze/arcdlp if you just use a search engine to look up YouTube to MP3 or something to that nature you can find a lot of different results. I think they even make browser extensions as well.

2·8 days agoI actually did just buy a lot of albums in the last 48 hours, once I realized that I could bc my tax return lol. Before that I was pretty broke and wishing I could actually buy some. A light bulb finally went off and I was like oh yeah, I got some money now :p I do like to test drive a lot to see if I really vibe with it also. if it’s something that actually touches me, I usually wind up wanting to have a higher quality version stored locally.

93·8 days agoI pretty much only use it for music, and most of the extensions have still gotten me by. At least long enough to rip the song to my hard drive for offline use. Fuck $16 a month. That’s ridiculous. For $16 I could get an album or two every month and not have to worry about some buffering bullshit. After a year, not only would I be supporting the artists directly and avoiding paying paying a scummy company, I’d actually have some discographies built up to permanently show for it. They’re just inadvertently trying to support people sailing the high seas. So irritating…

So wait the scientists would be doing drugs and talking about Star Trek while sharing research?
We really did fuck up the timeline, didn’t we?
