Think about the priority of the community wealthy community members.

Fires cause insurance payouts. This means big paydays when those ‘priceless’ works of art go up in smoke. You sell the land and buy somewhere without the insurance hikes. Win-win-win for the wealthy.

Crime causes property values to decline. A break in is harder to deal with. Rabble protesting for fair treatment can get violent. The homeless need to be driven from the wealthy areas so the wealthy can enjoy their champagne and caviar in peace after snorting coke off of a trafficked sex slave’s tits. Police are so very valuable for keeping the wealthy safe.

They know exactly what the right priority is… for the people who actually matter (not us.)

More money than sense.

Shit like this is way more common than you realize. Here where I am near Boston there are countless people who come into all manner of fast food places to just pick up food to deliver to people. Oftentimes there are more delivery drivers picking things up than in person orders. It’s wild. They usually double park with their hazards on or slide into a handicap spot to boot, and they’ll absolutely bypass the line and ask the workers even though there’s a long queue ahead of them.

Meanwhile everyone says they can’t afford to save up for housing and that they don’t make enough money to do anything… and then they’ll go grab their delivery with a 30% upcharge and a tip on top from outside where a driver dropped it off.

The pandemic escalated this trend from an uncommon oddity with a decent price (because pre-pandemic it was largely VC subsidized) but around 2021 the fees were cranked up to 11 and payments to drivers went through the floor.

I’ve been paying $30/year for like a decade now. Totally worth it.

They want them to breed.

They think blocking porn sites one by one is going to stop guys from getting access to porn. Haven’t they heard of bit torrent? tor? proxies and vpns? What are they going to do about foreign sites and sites that have mixed content like reddit?

Ridiculous law.

This doesn’t hurt the oligarchs so it’s not equivalent. Not reporting crashes does help the oligarchs. For balance we need ot remove at least as much, to make the rest of us “whole” so to speak.

Spotify is an evil company. They’ve started adding fake songs in to pay themselves instead of paying royalties to real artists.
