It also means there will never be another F2P game. They have to make their money upfront from every user. They can’t just turn it off when the profit slows and/or stops.
Just a nerd who migrated from kbin(dot)social.

Not easily at the moment. I’ll probably come back and give you some answers if I remember.
I don’t, personally. I’m of the mindset that it’s interchangeable with the mainstream social media, and I use them the same way.
Even though things aren’t going as they should, I wouldn’t be likely to leave. I don’t agree with a lot of what’s happening here, but there’s no nation I know that supports more of my beliefs and lifestyle than the USA. Plus, my family, my friends, and my loved ones are all here. Leaving would mean losing them, and that’s totally unacceptable.
Okay, but what about your catma? Does that define your naptimes and your need to make people believe that you must’ve meant to smash your face into the table leg after darting through the house?
Careful, you might get mistaken for Thin Blue Line folks.
Warren Zevon - “Life’ll Kill Ya” & “My Ride’s Here”
My father’s death doesn’t hit me in my day-to-day life much. But there are moments it hits me. Dad and Warren weren’t close, exactly, but they were fellow-travelers and Dad worked the concerts at the Capital.
Yes, but are you surprised at SJG not being the top RPG? The media push after GURPS Cyberpunk has faded fully. If they’d stuck with Fallout, maybe it could change.
So, is this going to be a wedge, along with Massie?
Holy mackerel! A Republican actually doing what the party talks about, that’s a miracle. Can he run for President?
Neither. They’d cite a precedent for self-defense against a violent prisoner and claim that he was about to attack.
I could name so many tabletop RPGs for this. Unfortunately, since Hasbro has dominated the space like a generational pile of elephant dung for over 2 decades now, and TSR actually did manage to make a few smart marketing decisions before Dragon Dice and the bankruptcy, I guess I can’t be too shocked.
So I guess I’ll go with a board game. Tsuro - The Game of the Path. It’s super-simple to learn and play, can be interesting for kids and adults alike, and it’s just a really solid, fun, game. There’s even an iOS version. I don’t understand why it’s a niche game instead of being front-and-center ahead of Monopoly or Clue(do). It’s not even prohibitively expensive, honestly - the wholly valid argument against Carcassonne and other niche games. There’s no good reason I can think of why Ticket to Ride is more popular than Tsuro.
Half of it is the sunk cost. Half of it is the Clans. Plus, MW2 and forward have had multiplayer Mercs modes with lance-vs-lance combats. Why would most people want to play on tabletop when that exists?
Admittedly, there is something satisfying about a Jenner with every jet in the world and a single PPC making a jump, cooling down in midair, and landing directly on top of an enemy and doing major structural damage before leaping away.
I think they realized that they won’t get the jurisdiction to bend on this one, and the general response from UK government will be “good riddance to bad rubbish”.
Was this supposed to be surprising? Anyone who’s been either a driver or customer with Uber over the last few years has recognized this trend. Same goes for Lyft. They opened with super-low fares to beat local cab companies and build habits. Now it’s time to go back to the few local companies that were able to hold out against the “disruption”.
Better yet - each army’s player may nominate or provide not more than one cat, to be placed on the board according to Deep Strike rules.
Oh, the time might cause slower fielding play, but combined with the “ties are a mutual loss”, you’d have an ongoing scramble to get one over. It makes the whole game more defensive under the time limit.
I agree with you generally, but we are misaligned on a few details. Firstly, I use LibreWolf rather than Floorp, and I specifically do not use it to store payment accounts. Second, if I need my card number, I make sure to just have my card with me for major purchases (gym membership is major). Third, anything that wants MFA, I just don’t use. Sure, there’s a lot of mainstream services I don’t use, but I honestly don’t see an issue with that.
