A lot of sites have weight. Twitter sheds users every day but the large user count makes it attractive to public figures and if you want to follow that public figure you need to have twitter.

If it’s a private company that con do what it wants, like blocking political opponents, it should not be under safe harbor protections.

That’s the point in yelling about this. If Elon wants a private forum for him and his mates, he should also be fully responsible when his mates posts child porn on his servers.

I don’t know if this is the same but Sweden have a thing where you pay into a fund that helps victims of crimes. When a criminal gets convicted and has to pay a victim money, the state takes money out of the fund and pay the victim and then the fund tries to get the money from the criminal. This way it doesn’t become the victims problem that the criminal can’t pay.

My general impression is that India are really good at scientific innovation and so on but only because the incredible inequality allows India to channel its resources so that it can be on par with other countries a fraction it’s size.

If they did the work required to lift the poor regions out of poverty, and sometimes just straight up feudalism, the country would become a proper superpower with far reaching cultural impact but right now India seem to slide further into Hindu nationalism so now it’s more of a worry for everyone else if India became another dictatorship like china.

It feels like one of those where the people that have expertise enough to name new things are not experts in naming things.

It depends on where you live I guess. I live in Sweden and bike everywhere so I hit ice and go down at least once or twice every winter. It’s usually black ice in early winter where things look fine and nothing is sanded or salted yet and you hit a curve that is just glass.

Some neighborhoods don’t plow the local roads so that the cars just pack the snow and Polish it into an icerink. If you then add powdered snow so that it looks fine you can suddenly go down and slide several meters. In those situations you are a bit fucked because there isn’t enough traction to get up again and you have to turtle a bit until you find your footing.

Summer and spring is mostly fine tough with the exception of 2 collisions from other bikes and once when one of the pedals mechanically failed. This is over more than a decade tough so it sounds like it’s more than it is but it’s still more incidents than my brother have had while driving which is zero.

I mean, when a car hits s bike the car is more dangerous overall but the driver sure won’t be injured by it. I know the accident statistic for electric scooters it absolutely lethal because cars keep killing them.

There is also the question if you count number of incidents or overall harm. Bicyclists scrape their knees and bruise their arms all the time, especially if you also use it in winter and fall.

The goal is generally that the road capacity and car speed will shrink as car use shrinks but things will also be closer together because there isn’t 10 lane roads and parking that spaces everything out. Ideally things will even out and stay roughly the same as now.

In that case the meme is just incoherent. Top part is entirely unrelated to the bottom and the title in unrelated to the meme. It’s just bright colors on a screen at that point.

The bottom does not adress the top question.

You can’t really have a firetruck train unless you build every single building within spitting distance of the train station and you can strap the firefighting equipment to a bike.

There are reasonable solutions to this question but this meme does not provide any of them.

The biggest problem with growing a beard is that it only looks good after a certain amount of time. When people grow beards it’s usually when they are on vacation because it is nice not having to shave and you dont have to look professional with a crazy half grown beard.

A couple of years ago the word took an extended vacation and a lot of people took the opportunity to grow a beard.

Scientists have been begging news stations to not show name and picture of school shooters because every time they do there are copy cats. This has been statistically and psychologically well established for literally decades but people just ignore it because they want their violence porn.

This stabbing came one day after the high profile stabbing in the mall with a ton of video of the stabber. Was this guy inspired by the mall stabber? Who knows what lies in the heart of a person but we can make some pretty good guesses.

And in reference to the fake newsers. They will say it’s fake anyway. There is no amount of evidence that is sufficient for them if there is an interest in denying it.

Even if it was a pen he got stabbed with it and he only lived due to the intervention of skilled surgeons.

He was being stabbed to death by the guy. The guy just failed.

It is a video of an Australian citizen being stabbed to death and they are doing it because they dont want the video to encourage other psychos to do the same thing.

I just want to recontextualize it because free speech warriors have a tendency to disambiguate the thing they are talking about.
