God, job hunts are the worst. Partner’s been looking for something literally anywhere within an hour of the cbd, has years of hospo experience, years of random tech knowhow. Even casual would be fine at this point. Just needs something to tide him over whilst we wait on the partner visa stuff to go through.
He’s only had one bloody interview, even, and they were reportedly incredibly nice and then just never talked to him after.
I’m so exhausted with supporting both of us. He’s so exhausted with doing 20+ bloody job apps every day. Ugh
Managed to keep myself off Reddit and Kbin for a while, but sometimes meetings just get too boring. Glad to see this place still going!
I’m too tired for this, bot. Had a slight crisis of day-of-week, hahahah.
May be procrastinating writing again.
I can understand it, to be honest. Kids don’t get a lot of money and makeup’s expensive. Sure, you’re right in that she should clean the damn stuff up, but like… kids’re irrational and jump to anger responses a lot.
(Does she have a caddy type thing to put it in? I got some extra shelving and caddies in my bathroom and now it stays organised. Feels good.)
Yeah… I think it’s a really big hit to a huge chunk of the population to NOT have it. Imagine if they’d just tax the fucking rich for that amount instead.
I’ve been referring to these as babykillers. Good luck seeing a kid crossing the road if you’re in one of these.
Unfortunately, given that it’s 2023 and DNA testing exists, you’re never going to be able to donate deidentified sperm. It’s possible for the kid to identify their donor without the donor having input, these days. Better for donors to be aware of this going in, I think.
Disagree. Tram’ll be fine. I live at the end of the 11 tram line right now, it’s really convenient. If it’s a bit longer, it’ll be great for getting to DFO by tram and I’ll be able to consider moving there since it’ll be super close to my office.
Bluesky or Mastodon? Both are federated, one’s just a lot harder to get onto.
Skiing today was brilliant, but man, it sucks to see the end of a ski trip coming up :')
Make sure you’re wringing it out, and not just by, well, wringing it. People used to use mangles to get all the water out, so you can use a similar concept even today - essentially scrape down it (in a way that won’t damage it) and just drag the water out that way.
Just you wait, we’ll name it Botty McBotface.
The plan’s still underway, isn’t it? It’s weird that the tram line hasn’t been started. I’d love to move over there if they bloody well added the tram.
That’s even better: old book smell. ♥
I see you’re in druid training!
Book deliveries are a joy. The new book smell!
What’d you get?
Taekwondo grading went amazingly!
Now onto the next thing: finding LARP-ish gear for a fey outfit soon. I really need to figure out where the charity shops are in the CBD, I just need to get like five leather belts.
Just white belt -> yellow belt ii, so not hugely difficult - but I haven’t done one since I got to red belt ish as a kid so I’m super nervous!
Copyright should exist or artists and writers can’t avoid having their work stolen by much larger companies.
I think it’s worth defining a hard limit for non-person entities to own copyright. That’d mean post a certain limit, game code, artwork, music etc would be free to use. Human-owned copyright should probably be life with a minimum period of average life expectancy, with maybe provisions to allow it to cover your children too? Prevents corporations from waiting until your mum dies in an accident and immediately taking her life’s work and using it everywhere.
He’s working on that one, good to know!
