Couldn’t be more infuriating than apple’s forced 2fa that requires a phone number. Effectively making iOS devices useless unless you have a phone number.
Legends say that the civilization ended during the cold war after the cuban missile crisis went hot, what you are experiencing is merely a simulation.

Democrats getting both houses of congress is not implausable, assuming we still have elections in the future.
Packing the supreme court isnt hard, just need the democrats to find their spine. And they could just rebrand it as “Balancing The Court” for PR purposes.
Now finding the states that add up to 270 electoral votes to join the i reinstate conpact, that is the biggest hurdle, but the downballot effect should win enough state legislatures if democrats win congress. Right now we’re 77% of the way there. One reason I speculate why they remaing swing states havent joined is becauss they want to wait until theres a friendly congress and supreme court before trying, because there will be legal challenges to it. If congress and supreme court are in control, then I could see swing states quickly joining the interstate compact in rapid succession.
We can kinda get rid of it via National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
First democrats need a majority in both houses in congress, as well as packing the court with more liberal judges.
Then have enough states with the required electoral vote threshold join the interstate compact.
Then have congress approve of it.
Then get the supreme court (now with liberal majority) uphold the interstate compact and rule that subsequent congressional sessions cannot revoke it. (Its currently implied that congressional approval of interstate compacts cannot be revoked, but has never been court tested)
Voila, you get popular vote. For as long as states dont start leaving the interstate compact. But at least you dont need 3/4th of state legislatures.

You mean like a VOIP number like Google Voice? Then no, your call get dropped when you move out of wifi range.
VoLTE doesnt count against your data plan, you dont even need a data plan to use VoLTE. In fact, most carriers require VoLTE these days so when you first insert the sim card, your carrier has sent a configuration profile instructing your phone to turn it on. You can turn the data to “off” but it still leave it on for VoLTE calls only.
Legal contract killing? Well if its a military contract then you get court martialed. If it’s a “I sold my soul to trump” contract, you get fired… with a bullet in the back of your skull on 5th avenue, as the senate cheers affirming that that is indeed a legal execution.
Ah yea reddit seems to hate TOR.
Not to mention that most subreddits have a soft ban on new accounts. Extremely infuriating.
Lemmy seems so welcoming to TOR users, I mean I had to fill out an “application” but I just used a temp email. Lovely place, hidden behind anonymity, well kind of… as long as the NSA doesnt suddenly spend the entire US budget hunting me, I’d be anonymous. They got bigger fishes to catch.
Illegal contracts are not enforceable in court. You’ll have to hire another contract killer to kill the contract-breaking contract killer.

Data is definitely usable when you make a VoLTE call. But if you turn data off before the call happens, the data icon on the top quick setting panel where you pull down on the notifications indicates that data is “on”, and attempting to turn it “off” would show a message saying “Unable to turn off data while Advanced Calling is on” Advanced Calling which I assume means VoLTE. So basically its this state where its on, but only for the purposes of VoLTE. If you have data set to on before the call happens, you can look up info while, for example, you talk to a customer service representative.
When data is off, it might not actually be off.
For example, on some android phones, the data connection shows as on when you are on a call, even tho apps cannot access the internet.
So I’m assuming the OS just built a workaround that turns data on only for calling, since if data is allowed to be completely off, people are gonna be complaining that their “Phone isn’t working” as most carriers require VoLTE these days.
Same thing with location. Even if you turn location off, it is automatically turned on if you call emergency numbers.
Mail in votes requires physical access to tamper with, anyone in the world can hack an internet connection and tamper with online votes.
Signing a petition is public, who you cast your vote for is private.
If there were any doubts on the signatures, officials can contact the people who signed and verify that they did sign. How do you verify a secret vote without ruining the secrecy?
I mean you can have online voting if you cast a ballot thats public, and it’d be verifiable, but then we go back to the 1800s in the US where threatening voters is a thing.
You have 3 elements:
1: Internet voting
2: Secrecy
3: Verifiable
Pick 2.
2020 (or was it 2021, dont remember) new years in NYC time square was so depressing. Just empty. Like an apocalypse.
Whaaa? No way! 🤯
There are different versions.
One is where they sell the cellebrite device to law enforcement.
Another where the cellebrite device remain in control of cellebrite, and law enforcement has to send the phone to cellebrite.
Unless you actually work for cellebrite and got access to their more advanced tools, which then I doubt they would let you share the details of since that must be breaking some non-disclosure agreement.
That’s what they say. I mean the news literally base this off the FBI’s own words, so there’s no way for us to tell if they actually manage to break the encryption but then turns around that say “the encryption is too strong”. Besides, iOS is closed source.
Intelligence agencies have made this “Anom Phone” that is this supposed encrypted phone that drug dealers and various criminals used to communicate, turned out to be a honeypot.

Trigger warning: Topic of Suicide
When I was a kid, my mom would read the news about some famous people who killed themselves, or some random college kid killing themselves, and she told me those stories and ask me what I thought of it. I thought they were stupid for killing themselves, because nothing could possibly be worse than death, I thought, childhood me chouldn’t understand the thought of suicide.
Then I slowly became depressed and I became so bored of life and I became a suicidal person that younger me would’ve looked at me and think it’s stupid.
Well I did not really did a serious attempt, but I did like very reckless things like I once took an entire month supply of antidepressants desparately wanting to feel better, I did this like I think 5 times. I also took like 15 sleeping pills at a time for like serveral times within a few months. I even took like like 30 then my body just couldnt handle it and I threw up. I also ignored health advice like getting vaccinated for covid (don’t judge, my head wasn’t even in the right place to think clearly) even tho I am usually pro vaccine, I just decided I wanted to increase my odds of dying. Well I didn’t die, which kinda sucks. I also don’t really care about my weight and just eat whatever I felt like. I’m pre diabetic, might get diabetes. I might have stomach issues with GERD or whatever but I dont even care.
I’m not brave enough to end it immediately, so I’m just slowly killing my self.
Oh yea dont even get me started on how my depression got me into a fight in high school that ended up with me detained for a few hours at the police station. I didn’t start the fight but whatever. F the police.
My life is just a downward spiral, recent election results is pushing me towards the edge. Never forsaw this shitty future.
