A truly shocking number of people don’t use any form of adblock. I doubt that driving off the adblock users will have a significant effect on viewership (and even if it does, why would Google care, it’s not like we’re making them money).

To be fair, the hardware is excellent. Overpriced as hell, especially considering that you can’t upgrade it yourself and the prices Apple charges for RAM and storage are ridiculous, but you can’t really argue with the quality. The locked-down, inflexible software and basically forcing you buy into the whole ecosystem if you want your devices to work together is the issue.
The 70+ age group was the one the AfD performed worst in. It’s young people voting fascist here in Germany, the old folks vote CDU because that’s what they’ve always done.
Oh, for sure. I just think it’s funny.
Ironically, .ml seems to be blocked in China.
Are there mobile apps yet? Because if no that’s one huge advantage Lemmy still has over Kbin/Mbin, and it’s why I switched to Lemmy when Artemis started having issues (it went down completely since) instead of going back to Kbin.
No, but does mean that Google now knows that you don’t speak Slovakian. It’s “just” the usual Google issues.
One individual action is. Ten thousand are not.
You’re not wrong, but at least there’s a chance that they’ll be released, and with therapy they might even have a normal life again some day. If you kill someone, they’re dead. Nothing you can do about it beyond maybe putting an “Oops, our bad, sorry about that” plaque on their headstone.
I will also say that prisons should not be cruel. The role of prisons should be rehabilitation, protection of society from those who can’t be rehabilitated, and lastly (and for once actually least importantly) punishment.
I’m not. Imprison her for life, but the death penalty is never acceptable as long as there’s even the slightest chance of a false conviction. As long as “the system” can get it wrong, it should not be allowed to carry out irreversible punishments.
I actually agree with him on the thickness, especially since I’d put the phone in a case which would add even more girth. It makes it less pocketable, and more importantly less easy to handle. My thumb can’t easily reach all the way across the screen on my current, similarly sized and thinner phone already and the added few millimetres from the case do make it noticeably worse.
It’s not the major thing that’s keeping me away from the Fairphone (I’m just not the target demographic), but certainly isn’t a point in it’s favour.
What VPN offers 12 months for $12 and is there a catch? I’m happy with Proton but having something cheap and trustworthy to recommend would be nice.
I usually don’t, I’d like to but I generally don’t have the time for it. But many people do play on launch day, as you can see looking at the player charts on Steam. You can’t say “gaming on Linux works, you don’t need Windows” and then have all these little caveats. For the vast majority of people something either works when they click “Play” or it doesn’t work at all. This is an enthusiast community, but most people just aren’t that.
And I’ll admit that I didn’t recheck Starfield before commenting. Nice to see, it was a no-go on Nvidia initially.
No, especially AAA releases usually do not, or least not right away. For example according to ProtonDB Starfield (and yes I know, most people here don’t like it - but I do) still doesn’t work reliably, especially not on Nvidia cards. And no amount of indie puzzle games makes up for AAA titles working hassle free and on day one for the vast majority of users.
So you think Israel should just accept that a genocidal terrorist organisation attacks its civilian population? Yes, Hamas uses civilians as meat shields but what are the Israelis supposed to do? Let themselves be slaughtered?
Jesus fucking Christ. Terrorist supporters all around here. I’m genuinely disgusted.
Yes, the constant Muscovite sabre-rattling is why NATO countries are starting to take their militaries seriously again.
