I think owning our accounts would be actually good and saving a key pair is as simple as saving a password. Also, the server wouldn’t be going down because there would be no servers.

Would be really cool if Lemmy would be truly decentralized. I mean each user and it’s followers hosted the user content. And don’t come with the it’s not possible or let me tell you why wouldn’t work because that’s exactly what happens in Scuttlebutt protocol. When will people learn. Centralization, small or big is aways a problem. We all have all it takes to make it happen, smartphones, laptops, desktops, servers… everyone’s at least one of these. So why still this mess with social platforms?!
Can’t wait to have other people say what I can or cannot see. /s
