Yes. 7 years. I stopped because I was a horrendous binge drinker. The first year was the most challenging but after about 18 months I was able to have a non alcoholic beer once in a while to take the edge off. I would say I get the urge maybe once or twice a year now but it’s more of a ‘Oooh, that would be nice’ but I know it’s a slippery slope back if I do have one.
Overall, much happier and I wish I’d stopped sooner but I can’t change the past.
Mine is a rollercoaster of emotions that will hopefully settle soon. And very muggy weather that is leading to some very poor sleep.
However on the positive side if things I am enjoying my first ever rewatch since the original airing of The X-Files and reading The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwyne and it’s really bloody good.
I take a timed, twenty minute nap. Under the sheets. Undressed. And just let me mind wander wherever it wants. I’ve found that generally I don’t often fall asleep but am just on the cusp when the alarm goes off but I feel more rested from that than when I wake in the morning after a ‘full nights sleep’.
I’m apatheistic when it comes to if there is a god and/or gods and I actively dislike all organised religion. Religion has no place in modern society and causes so much suffering. It’s time has been and gone.
I most definitely agree. I really want my 3.5 back as I do not like wireless ear buds, too damned fiddly and I know I will misplace one. Give me a £20 pair of House of Marley and I am good to go.
I wouldn’t necessarily say I am enjoying the internet more but I am using it less, especially the doom scrolling but to be fair I’ve hardly used much since April and have been watching Star Trek and reading since April instead.
I’ve noticed an improvement in my mental health overall and I really like how Beehaw operates Vs Reddit with the more polite discussions. Definitely has a positive impact.
Amsterdam. I’ve been many times. Yes for the smoke but mainly for the ambience, architecture and museums.

I tried watching an hour long video yesterday on YouTube. So many ads. So today I shall sort out a rip of the video I think so I can watch stuff uninterrupted.

I’ve not used soap/bodywash in years because I found it caused itchyness. Just wash with water and a good scrub with one of those scrunchy type sponge things. No problems with smelling bad. I do however still use deodorant as I get RIPE fast.
Shampoo I have to use (Nizoral) due to some sort of skin condition in my scalp, beard and eyebrows.
I’m going to miss the Star Trek sub but I am hoping the Lemmy one will pick up.
Overall, Reddit has suffered over the years allowing blatant right wing build ups to take root. My old local sub was seeing dog whistles pop up and general quality of the sub sufferes, even more so when the local football people came over and brought their ‘banter’ with them along with shit posts. The mods didn’t really do anything to guide the quality of the sub and I left it last year. Today I deleted my account. No regrets.

Yup. I’ll be deleting my Reddit account at some point over the next couple of weeks. Without RiF I’ll not be using Reddit at all.
While probably not needed yet I can see a need in the future for a mini painting/tabletop/ttrpg spin off from the single gaming community if it grows substantially.
