I never get over how adorable sky puppies are. 🥰
I think everyone has explained the how and why, but not any real solutions that don’t involve using a completely different application. I don’t have an iPhone in front of me, but with Android you can share as a link to Google Photos instead of sending the picture/video directly. I am pretty sure you can do something similar with iCloud. Have her try the share as iCloud link instead.
Update: I just tested it. I had them open up Photos, go to the image/video, tap the share button, and then if you scroll down a tiny bit there is a share as iCloud link. I was able to view it just fine on my Android phone.
The stack overflow of PLC programming.
The arrogance of Kent is ridiculous and he sounds like a man-child throwing a neck beard flavored tantrum whenever someone questions the bullshit reality that doesn’t actually exist. This isn’t some dumb application you can run into the ground because you can’t play well with others. This is the fucking linux kernel, and if you can’t fathom how bad it is to throw random “fixes” at the last minute instead of waiting for the next development cycle, you are the problem. I see that shit all the damn time in corporate environments and I am sick of arrogant programmers who can’t understand processes, why they exist, and why they need to be followed.
I had a friend do this. It was utter misery for over a year. Most of his teeth were shattered, so he had to wait for a lot of fragments to expel naturally.
Do not discount pain management that involves opioids. Not saying to use them for weeks nor do I know your personality for bad habits, but if it gets bad please don’t suffer for no reason. Getting ibuprofen or acetaminophen with low dose codine may be a good middle ground and is even available over the counter in some countries. Extended pain is mentally exhausting and isn’t worth the hit on your mental health.
f you are struggling taking pills, get liquid ibuprofen. Sometimes you can get a chemist to make a suspension for you, otherwise get childrens. I do that if my throat gets too infected and I am unable to swallow. Honestly, it works far better than the pills and I needed a lot less.
Best thing is to be honest with your doctors, even if you do not want anything stronger. Be sure to communicate any discomfort due to ill fitting dentures. Ask questions if anything unexpected comes up. My friend’s doctor was super shitty and didn’t even tell him about all of the left over fragments that still had to come out on their own.
Once I got the right configuration on Obsidian, I like it. I had already embraced markdown beforehand, so “fixing” it to work properly was an immediate requirement or I wasn’t using it. It only took 2-3 plugins and a small custom css file. I don’t need an editor hiding the markdown syntax or anything other than a mono spaced font.
I get that paper thing. I just lose it eventually. Go go ADHD.
Since I refuse to have Teams and Outlook start on boot, I may have accidentally forgotten to open my email for 6 weeks… Most people just send me a message on Teams anyways.
Also, spam from HR. I am sorry, but your bullshit emails on senseless activities is not being read and immediately binned. The amount of spam emails I get from people in the company is astounding. At my old job I may have taken great joy in reporting each one of them as spam out of spite.
Yeah, I have Russia and a few other countries blocked on my network. That is a no-go for me personally.
No idea about which specific type of business it is, but keeping that history long term can have some benefits, especially to outside people. Some government agencies require companies to keep records for a certain number of years. It could also help out in legal investigations many years in the future and show any auditors you keep good records. From a historical perspective, it can be matched to census, birth, and death certificates. A lot of generational history gets lost.
Companies also just hoard data. Never know what will be useful later. shrug
You have to walk… barefoot. My feet are messed up and I have some impressive callouses on the balls of my feet. They are a little better after surgery, but recovery sucked. Ultimately, your feet build up protection. Caking on mud probably helped. Animal skins, rudimentary sandals from various plants, and other natural resources could provide extra protection. Unfortunately, we have built an environment made for shoes and evolution is doing the rest. Walking on pavement is not great without shoes. Especially when it bakes. Walking on soil and grass feels a lot better.
This reminds me a lot of AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robot), except the Omron ones I have been working with are super dumb. I wish they would honk or give better indication that they are incapable of parking or going around each other. Those Waymo cars at least seem to be able to figure it out.
Not to say all AMRs are that bad. I have seen some really good systems, but it all comes down to the software and configuration. I know this is Fuck Cars, but the technology that goes into those Waymo is an amazing feat of engineering. I am amused that they didn’t think too hard on the sound pollution and disturbances.
Me too! I have used it for a couple other non-rpi devices in the past as well. It is super simple and works on my Mac. I haven’t even looked at other utilities in years.
Holy shit Rockbox was amazing. I might still be subscribed to the mailing list. I used that on a few different MP3 players as a kid. I had no idea. Fuck I am old.

I deny it every single time it asks. I wish it would take the hint and stop asking. I have an iPad and a Pixel and both app stores are complete cancer. I only open Google Play a couple times a year, but I am usually opening the Apple one to force everything to update.
Due to Sync, it is always an eyesore of huge images due to the multiple links. I just blocked the bot so I can move on. I should dig through my settings again to find a happy medium.
UL certification can mean different things, depending on the product and type of mark. It also isn’t that expensive to get UL listed as it isn’t like every single item you produce is tested. Each product you design is tested, but not each item you produce.
There are 3/4 types. UL listed, UL recognized, and UL classified. Certified is newer and more stringent.
If a product is Classified by UL, this can mean its testing meets the particular requirements for a single test with a published result, but has nothing to do with all the other tests that may form part of a Standard (i.e., UL 181).
As for pricing for UL listed, it can be just a few grand for a single product. Not much when you are selling thousands. I am sure Classified is even cheaper. I wonder how many of these cheap ass lamps say Classified.
No idea which phone you have, but dbrand does carry a decent amount of models. However, it is mostly limited to Apple, Google, Samsung, and One Plus. It does suck trying to find some things though. I do try to get things directly from the manufacturer website when it makes sense, but sometimes Amazon IS their website.
Crowdstrike took Debian and Rocky down earlier this year due to a bad update… Linux is not immune.
Yes. Even if you get bitched at. Decent people will just ask more questions until they get what they need from you. Better to give more information than none. Try your best.
Actually, sometimes going through every single step on how you ended up with the issue solves it… Done that a few times.
