Try turning off JavaScript when ur faced with an overlaying paywall
Might I add brave’s BAT wallet is garbage. You had to sign up to some random exchange and upload your ID (I didn’t), but even that you couldn’t even backup your wallet into a new install, so hope that you would never have to format or reinstall or change devices - it’ll be a pain to restore, if it was even possible.
Firefox over brave any day.
ya. I was confused at first because i went to try it out but no f-droid or any other way of getting it?
honestly i don’t know what you did to mess up a windows install like that, but i agree overall that linux is easier. However there are quirks that can arise for a new user that will eat time or seem daunting.
ya, using the internet without an adblocker is a security risk because Google enables scams across its services.
How about they learn to clean house first before shitting on the internet lol.
incompetent company will do incompetent things.
good stuff, glad to see this opposition.
Also slightly related, but I’d absolutely hate if I were an employee having to work on this project and having my name attached to this. Quite embarrassing for all those involved.
i just searched and it looks like there’s already one on an instance
I’m pretty much new to lemmy so i don’t even know how communities are made
I agree, affinity programs are really good and i’d rather see those on linux
That’s a more detailed explanation thanks. The OP explanation was helpful for someone who hasn’t really looked into how it functions.
Is there some sort of judiciary at the EU level or is the robustness of laws tested in national contexts?
that’s how it goes. we’re in this transformation but most people don’t notice it because they experience the world and things seem to be ok (for now, or they are distracted by some other insignificant thing), and this is not even mentioning the economic and political obstacles that block any meaningful change.
I think the likely scenario is people won’t seriously start to be concerned (and by serious i mean taking proactive steps across their individual and social lives) until this situation further develops and it will be a bit too late. I hope i’m wrong.
all their wealth is basically dependent and built on the labour of all society, they’re not escaping this. They’ll have more privilege to suffer less relatively to the majority of the people on this planet, but they’re not escaping this
thank you for that brief explanation, didn’t really know the difference between the two branches(is that what they call em?)
That is absolutely disgusting. How can i take a news organization seriously if they think this is suitable form of consuming their news?
why are they trying to restrict and control the internet? on the plus side I guess I’ll go outside more, touch grass, forget this crap exists and enjoy other facets of life. It’s just sad to see it be transformed into this pile of crap.
You’re right, why are we allowing the internet be be monopolized like this? it is futile because we’re basically giving up all control and forming a dependence on these few select tech companies.
It’s truly this simple and very liberating to be reminded of this.
How about we go a step further and save them the labor; just announce to me your intent on implementing DRM on websites, out of all things, and I’d just block my devices from visiting that entire site because why waste my time.
Many of these tech or media companies need us more than we need them.
seems counter intuitive… each incognito window should be separated into their containers.
seems like a good idea to take that container addon and apply that to incognito.
