Sure. I can’t wait to finally make the switch (Nvidia).
Lol, of course Lemmy posts this picture.
I’m more inclined to not be annoyed too much by ads on podcasts where you know it’s just some guy or gal getting compensated for the work they are putting into their podcast. That said, maybe I’m getting way fewer ads on Antennapod because of said adblocking, not sure.
I will say, it has a bug where it will not work in a work profile. You can install it but it won’t playback. Which is annoying. But for me it is a small complaint.
Oh gawd, I hate that (sorry 😅). But so long as it was just an option, even a default one, that would be fine with me.
I think Gnome wins as I have it. But I would take the vanilla macos shell (not the underlying OS, just the shell) over vanilla Gnome.
I dislike it. But no. Don’t be authorjtarian like China. Bann it on phones of those with security clearances, but that’s all.
You sure about that? Isn’t the hash stored on the secure element? I don’t doubt some right high rolling actors can get in there but it doesn’t sound that trivial.
That is very much not what I said, bruh.
No, children.
He has written his own libraries and programs to ensure these things don’t happen.
What you people need to understand is that these problems have been solved before Rust. They just weren’t baked into the language. And so people made mistakes.

I’m not saying Rust is not always the better choice. Of course not. I’m just oh-so-weary of this rewrite-the-world zealotry a lot of people have about it.
Check out Eskil Steenberg. He’s mostly a game dev, but he has some really good talks.
Absolutely. The problem is, most programmers are mediocre. So sadly the protection of stupid people tends to take cultural precedence.
Don’t know what you’re talking about.
Though I actually did finally listen to Linus’s review. Minus a few stupid things like “it’s too thick” or “I don’t like where the SIM slot is”, I think I mostly agree with him. It seem like the software at least has some major issues if he is to be believed.
A lot of men who think they are techies because they game or something but really aren’t.
Honestly I use brave from time to time as my backup browser and I have never noticed the difference.
I think the performance issue would not be related to loading simple pages. It seems like it would be more noticeable when running load-demanding web apps.
What were you doing on it if you don’t mind me asking.
I use it on a 5 year old low powered laptop and have no issues.
Fascinating. The more ya know.
Ah yes, cos that would lead to stellar leadership in Mozilla.
