I mean, I am comforting myself by saying what I already have is good enough which is why I don’t need the steam machine. I know they are not the same.

I wanted one, but not for this much. Glad I got the first gen steam deck when I could. Steam deck + dock is pretty much the same thing.

Maybe “extreme” was the wrong word, I mean divisive. Its unnecessarily divisive and makes me not want want to label myself as a vegan even if I do only eat plant based.

I am doing the one where you don’t eat any animal products or use any animal products. The reason I chose to do this is personal, I am not adopting any ideologies.

As someone who is exploring veganism right now, this extreme stance is kind of a turn off. Like I’m still going to eat plant based, but this makes me not want to talk to people who call themselves vegan or even call myself vegan either.

Edit: It’s strange that the response I am getting to this is to call me right wing and white, of which I am neither. But I am someone who is just trying to eat plant based.

As long as it doesn’t become something that is forcibly pushed in to everything I do with the browser and my actions on the browser aren’t available to the LLM they go with, which it sounds like it won’t be, I don’t care if an AI agent exists in the software I use. Though I do feel like the working hours for this could be used in a better way, I’d love to see PWA’s come to Firefox for Linux, as an example.

All I got to say is that the new Steam controller better link to devices as a controller and not a mouse. The current steam controller shows up as a mouse when I connect it to mobile devices via Bluetooth, so I can’t use it with games that have controller integration build in to the game, since they think I am connecting a Bluetooth mouse. The only reason I don’t use my current steam controller as my main controller is because of the mouse issue.

Honestly would love something like this for lemmy. On old reddit I had a enhancement suite script that tagged know bad actors so I could filter them out/add grains of salt. But instead of like on Bluesky where you subscribe to a list managed by someone else, I’d like a local filter that I can apply and won’t update until I update it.

Unions and Government jobs have pensions. But if you have a 401k or any type of IRA, the same people who invest pensions are also doing that investing for you if you aren’t managing it ( IE: mutual fund and etfs) and the investments are pretty much the same for both, so if pensions tank, so will your 401k.

My biggest issue with the fediverse and all alt social media in general is due to the current social climate and censorship on mainstream SM platforms, every alt platform is inundated with politics. Politics is very hot button, it breeds negative interactions and very often is worded in such a way that its very ragebait-y in order to increase engagement. I have this issue with Bluesky as well, even after blocking bad actors and bad communities, and muting keywords I still find myself overwhelmed with political content and I find it difficult to not engage even if I support the causes.

When I consume media that is not politically related, I find people are very positive and easy to connect with, the problem is that type of content is few and far between.
