Neat visuals but I don’t think this is in any way accurate… Tell me how I crossed all those lightyears in about 60 seconds while only traveling at around 95% the speed of light.

Well I learned a new word from that article : invigilator Thanks BBC

Weird that scruz.social shows up on that list. I shut that down ages ago and it was not even a lemmy instance…it was mastodon.
You will need your original ansible files, however you should be able to find the important config ones in /srv/lemmy/
on your server. What you are supposed to do is pull the latest ansible files from GitHub then run the ansible install script. If you are unsure where to place the files you recovered from /srv/lemmy/
you can just look back through the installation instructions.
I see that this was published out of the BBC’s Delhi offices. I guess the writing makes sense now.
I get that this is a big deal but why do the headlines need to fluff it up to make it seem like there is a human out there? When do we ever say that our rovers on Mars are going for a Mars walk or stepping off their landing platform? If it’s wheels they are rolling or going for a drive! It’s no wonder that trust in news media is declining when there are editors who think this kind of bullshit can fly in a science headline.
Ah, I read that as part of the same incident. I see now what was meant by twice - not really a repeat offender.
I can’t find where it says this was the second time in the article. Can you quote it?
“They” = companies with money to invest and profits to be had.
Hear me out - you could run, like, a sneaker-net but with cargo ships!
How would you propose connecting to a mesh network without the use of an ISP? Are you thinking wireless (wifi)? For something like that to work you would need an AP/repeater every 150 feet or so. How would you cross oceans without bouncing wireless signals off the ionosphere (creating latency issues) or using a cable (requiring some entity to maintain it - $$$)?
If you break it down into the requirements to do such a thing you can start to understand why your question is a bit ridiculous.
This doesn’t even feel like an article - more like one long advertisement. The second paragraph of the article launches into a review of the “Erect Horse Penis - Concept LoRA”
I believe if you use a service like Google Voice you actually can block numbers. You can even set filters and play specific messages for different numbers (I sent “unknown” numbers to a recording that told them they need to unblock caller ID)
I ONLY clicked on this post to make the same comment or upvote one that had already been made.
I guess the click bait works for engagement but this isn’t that kind of social media, ie., you aren’t trying to game an algorithm.
I think the problem will persist no matter when the last day of the work week falls. People are burnt out and thinking about their plans for the weekend.
You’re already using an SMTP relay so why not host your Mail-in-a-box server at home? Been doing that for years. Also, check out Mailcow if you’re interested in running your server as a docker container.
The ISP is going to keep those important network security settings far away from its clients. Owning your own router or ONT will not let you change anything other than your internal network settings.
If you post to a community that is hosted on a different server, your post is still stored on your home server. The community server is basically just the aggregator. If the community or server goes down the posts are still hosted on their respective home servers.
Fresh Graphene. In order to get stock Android back you would need to install it back on your phone. A factory reset removes all data, settings, and apps that were put on the phone by the user.
