They teach you french during basic training so that wouldn’t be an issue. You can see this at the FFL faq page where the first q and a is about french fluency.

I thought being able to communicate in the most basic of French or English was a requirement for the psychological test.

Are you sure those guys in the documentary were already past selection? You have to be selected (10/100) and then you also have to pass basic training which is difficult.

The last one I saw was were they followed people trough the selection process and then followed the ones that passed. One of the ones that passed gave up during basic training. I didn’t check if there was a second process after basic training.

How many of those have a military background? I saw some documentaries where they followed recruits and most of them failed because they lacked dedication, a decent understanding of French, or were physically or mentally unfit.

I didn’t mention this because I addressed US soldiers. If you are already a soldier I’m sure you’ll easily get in.

This is not how economics work. It will MOSTLY hurt American companies. But it will also hurt the Chinese manufacturers because of the fast change in demand. It can even hurt 3rd party countries because these Chinese companies might now dump these goods on the market which in turn could hurt their competitors.
