Win for Rebecca Slaughter as court rules commissioners may not be dismissed by a president without cause

A divided US appeals court on Tuesday allowed the US federal trade commissioner, Rebecca Slaughter, a Democrat, to resume her role at the agency, as Donald Trump tries to remove her from office.

In a 2-1 decision, the District of Columbia circuit court of appeals allowed a lower court decision in favor of Slaughter to take effect, rejecting the Trump administration’s request to delay the ruling during its appeal.

The court said that FTC commissioners may not be fired by a president without cause, saying that the law on this point had been clear for nearly a century.

So my only options are to be a fascist, or to… Subjugate them? Those are the two options huh?

So you think our only option is to enslave conservatives? I just want to make sure I understand… As I said, I was with you until the “subjugate them” part. Maybe we are using two different definitions of the word?

So tell me what it means to you. Why do we need to “subjugate” half of the country? Tell me how this fixes our problems. Tell me how subjugating literally anyone fixes any of our problems?

Look it up in a dictionary ffs. It means to bring under control, to subdue, to take away power. News flash: that is what is currently happening to us. the only winning strategy is to fight back. Look up the prisoners dilemma.

I am done engaging with you.

Oh ok, they’re doing it to us so that makes it ok. Got it.

Sorry man, I have zero interest in subjugating anyone, let alone citizens of my own fucking country.

Enslavement is absolutely a form of subjugation. Google seems to be confirming my understanding of the word:

To subjugate is to bring a group of people under complete control or to make them submissive, often through force or intimidation.

                    Oh look at that…

The word “subjugate” comes from the Latin subjugare, which literally means “to bring under a yoke”. A yoke was a heavy wooden harness used to control oxen, and in ancient Rome, conquered soldiers were sometimes forced to pass under one as a sign of their submission.

That’s what you want to do with half of the people who live in the same country as you.

I don’t want to fucking rule over conservatives as my “subjects.” That’s fucking absurd. You’re absurd.
