Goos news, but I do wonder what the alternatives are that could replace the diesel trucks. Battery powered trucks are generally too heavy to make it worthwhile, at least from my knowledge
Hydrogen powered retrofits might be an option in the future?
Currently they aren’t the cleanest option and storage might be impractical for passenger cars, but it might be viable for long-haul fleets.
I think these type of bans are great and will cause the industry and buying trends to shift well before the deadline. Who wants to buy the last diesel truck, you know? When everything else is shifting away it wouldn’t even make sense anymore. The ban encourages manufacturers to implement cost effective alternatives well before the deadline
