I know this is how the books handle this as well, but I don’t like the whole flashback plotline that reveals how the silos came to be. It reminds me of how bad stories lean on exposition, rather than letting the main characters discover and solve the mystery.

Yeh, the second book was fucking trash because of this. I didn’t really care about that arsehole and his back story about how the silos came about and his journey to getting into one.

The only reason I slogged through the third book was to try and find out what happened but the ending really wasn’t worth it IMO and I feel the show has already gone that way. They already changed up enough details to make me lose some interest but on the whole I think the show is going to end up an even worse rendition of an already mediocre book series.

It is a shame as I loved the concept and the first book was great but meeehhhhh

Really enjoyed season 1, less so season 2, and I’m not really looking forward to an amnesia plot for season 3… But I am excited to learn more about the past and how all the silos work.

Hopefully the amnesia plot is only an episode or two.

    Season 2 spoilers

Also it was weird to have the season 2 finale be her “dying”, and then have the trailer just clearly show her alive. I knew she would be, they explained the good tape plot clearly, but why have a cliffhanger that didn’t matter? The exciting part is her being back, not “did she survive?”.

    Excite!

I think this is my favorite current sci-fi show. It’s not as high-concept as, say, Severance, but the cast is amazing and the plot is nice and twisty.

After the drop from S1 to S2, I’m going to give S3 an episode or two and then possibly DNF it. S2 wasn’t worth keeping this show in rotation. Which is a shame, this is exactly my kind of scifi.

I’m with ya but I’ll probably give the whole season a shot. Felt like it really went off the rails…

      Warning: Season 2 spoilers

Felt like Shirley was acting very out of character specifically to move the plot along. Didn’t feel like the level of rage she had made sense. She is super smart but acted like a total dumbass. On the flip side, I thought Knox’s development was good.

I liked the reveal of the additional silos and I loved Solo as a character concept but they spent WAYYY too much time there.

I really liked the coup stuff. I think Common (forgot his character’s name lol) has a great arc.

I loved the “twists” in the beginning and middle of the season. I very much didn’t love the final twist.

Juliette holding up the sign was cool as hell, though.

It’s maybe saveable. Depends on how the aforementioned twist plays out.

The story ended up being such a disappointment. First season had a good hook but turns out there is no real mystery or anything interesting behind the silos. It’s just dudes living underground with poor politics.

Now season 3 is just a prequel of how silos were founded but if silos are not interesting in anyway then who cares?
