Does anybody else have an obsessive desire to get rid of a lot of stuff?
I do but unfortunately it’s other people’s stuff in this house I want to get rid of
Partner once donated a chinese tea set my sibling gave me for a present years ago. I then found it, its quite a rare design, for sale in said op-shop. Cost me $30 to get my own damn tea set back!! Still pissed. I suppose the moral is, never get rid of other people’s junk unless you at least tell them.
Some of this stuff still has the Anko stickers on it, so it’s straight up shit
Constantly. But no matter how hard I try it always comes back! When I was young and single, I could pack everything I owned into my car and be gone in a couple of hours and I liked that feeling. Then I got a wife and kids and their ability to accumulate stuff is unbelievable. I envy those living the true minimalist lifestyle.

I suspect you feel this.
Absolutely! 🤣
Cleaned out my entire shed 6 months ago, and now it needs it again!
I almost never get rid of stuff. But I counter that by very very rarely getting new stuff, deliberately.
This is me. Broken roof tile? Get the silicone. ;)
… okay not always, sometimes i get second handies from a guy on a corner.
I did most of that during Covid.
Always.
Moving states helps a lot! When I moved to Melbourne, I offloaded so much! It was so easy to justify when the cost of transporting a thing exceeded its value.
Ten years later now with a wife and two kids moving back to Perth with me - same deal. Another huge downsize.
We still have too much stuff. Our last move was a downsize to three bedrooms and there are a few boxes in the garage that can’t fit in the place. I’ve pretty much forgotten what’s in them.
It’s weird: you go on holiday somewhere and live in a quest apartment with barely anything in it for a week and don’t miss your stuff at all.
