State of affairs for technology seem bad? But what is being done to change it? And what could be done by you so it changes at least for yourself?

A community to talk about the reversal of enshittification, be it news, actions that could be done, etc.

And my favorite rule of the community:

If you must talk about enshittification, please include how someone could reverse it; otherwise, post it elsewhere

Not the mod or creator. I just post there. Home instance is programming.dev, see so many enshittification and LLM war posts even after unsubscribing to communities that post them a lot like !Programming. More than a little frustrated that An Enshittification Happened gets 500 upvotes and tons of engagement, but this little community telling you How To Resist Or At Least Partially Reverse An Enshittification (whether that be an overall strategy thinkpiece on what actions could happen at a macro level to help stop it, or a how-to guide for your personal device/experience) averages 20 upvotes. So I figured I’d try to do something about it and promo it instead of just being angry and doing nothing.

Made it because reversal should still be possible, and although there’s !enshitification@slrpnk.net, other than its “positive monday” rule, the deshittification aspect isn’t covered by their rules/guidelines (nothing against their community, though).

We can only convince so many people to ditch corporate social media. Convincing them to ditch their gmail is even harder. Convincing them that their amazon plus isn’t really worth it is a big fight that I’ve yet to win once

the sad truth is that even the people who are tech literate doesn’t want to ditch those services let alone people who doesn’t have any idea about these tech.
