For example if I were to go to Facebook, you will ask for my location data, and I will say no and never ask again.
Then I go back and it just keeps asking.
Basically every website I visit this happens to.
Is there not a way to just have firefox absolutely stop Facebook from asking again?
Thanks so much for your help
Go to Firefox Settings, search “location”, click the first button in results (Permissions > Location heading), check the box to block all new requests and save it, never worry about this again on any site.
I finally took a look at this, after being bombarded again, and I have already had this ticked it turns out. So the setting is not working. I wonder what I should do here? A full uninstall, and re-install maybe? Strange.
Turning this off is one of the first things I do after install. Never had an issue.
Firefox should have a little checkbox next to the decline button to always give the site that answer. Have used it several times.
You can do this browser wide in the all site settings if you prefer to not be bothered just set it to block all new requests.
I have this ticked, yet it still asks unfortunetly. Thank you though
Type
location
into the “find in settings” search bar on the settings page. First result should be the location settings from the Privacy and Security section of the settings. Click the Settings button there and enable the checkbox at the bottom of that settings dialog to block all future requests asking to access your location. If you’re in a Private window, or have any privacy addons that clear cookies or other site information when a tab is closed, that would cause the original issue, as location permissions are not stored in your Firefox profile but in a cookie. The checkbox I described above should prevent the location prompt regardless of your other privacy measures. Thanks for the detailed reply. I have that ticked, but the annoyance still persists. There must be a bug or something?
If that’s the case, it’s possible there could be an issue with your profile or some kind of config change. Have you tested it with troubleshoot mode, or refreshed Firefox?
