The salutation for System Administrator day is "Happy System Administrator Day! Hey, since I’ve got you here do you think you can "
The customary reply is “Thanks! I’ll add it to my list”

So there’s going to be a fediverse and a mirror fediverse?
If dragons aren’t real, how come you see them in popular media so much? where do the film makers get them? Oh, they used a computer to make them?
Sounds like dragon denier talk
My router, (a TP-Link, can’t remember the exact model) will still list itself in the list of nameservers even if I just specify the pihole. Since I can’t seem to find anywhere in the router’s interface to turn that behavior off, I’ve resorted to using the pihole as DHCP as well.
But yeah, usually you can just use whatever DHCP server you have already
I still can’t listen to “time is on my side” without thinking of this movie. 10/10 gave me nightmares as a kid
When I first noticed the memes, I looked at the account making them and it was less than a day old. I just figured they had an axe to grind or it was an election season bot and blocked the account, lol.
It requires your pihole to act as DHCP server as well. From what I can tell, Roku is hard-coded to use whatever address is handed out. It’s easily responsible for 60% of the blocked domains on my pihole.
If you don’t have admin access to the ISP router, your only recourse is to put a consumer router behind it (You’d just hook up the consumer router’s internet port to one of the LAN ports on the ISP router) and connect all of your devices to that. That way you can disable the DHCP server on the router and enable it on the pihole.
If it makes you feel better, the agency representing the class action will be paid handsomley
Silly me, not thinking of the poor little corporations again
What’s unsafe is having to navigate a giant fischer price interface whenever you want to adjust the A/C
Ages ago when I was in college, I had a little Brother laser printer. It was more than enough, as I was only printing B&W documents. It was wireless and you could easily get a few thousand pages per toner cartridge. Hell it even did duplex via a special duplex tray on the front. I loved that little thing, and eventually gave it away when I graduated as I basically stopped using it. If I ever find myself in a situation where I need to buy a printer, Brother is the only brand on my list.
Also, the lights would flicker whenever I fired it up, lol! that baby drew a lot of power.
Like the one daddy puts in his drink! …and then he gets mad
OMG I was obsessed with this game! I didn’t realize it was still around
I’ve had a mastodon account for a few years but I’m not super active on it, since I’m not a huge fan of microblogging. I learned about lemmy from the reddit alternatives sub, but never gave it much thought. I didn’t realize it was part of the fediverse, and didn’t really commit to making an account due to the lack of content at the time.
I learned about Kbin during all the recent reddit drama, and decided to give that a try. Now that I’ve been here for a while and understand federation, I’m really loving it. I’m really excited to see where this goes as the platforms and federation concept starts to mature and gain traction
Ubuntu was my first. I got a copy of 7.04 from the IT instructor at a local tech school during a field trip back in high school. I had no idea what linux was before then. I would boot the live cd on the family computer and mess around with it since I didn’t have one of my own. I was finally able to get a hand-me-down windows 98 PC from my aunt and installed my copy of 7.04 on that right away. Got my dad to run some ethernet up to my room and I was living like royalty after that.
I’ve tried about every distro under the sun since those days, but Ubuntu always feels like home
Yeah, I found a neat article that explains it: https://pathofcha.com/blogs/all-about-tea/a-detailed-guide-to-gong-fu-cha-the-chinese-way-to-taste-tea
That sounds delicious I gotta try it
Good luck, I hope something gets figured out
The Model M IS the weapon
