What the hell, incredible that people can be this brazen and no longer fear for their political career.

Where did you hear about a reputation for durability? I’m familiar with the phrase “if you can’t afford two BMWs you can’t afford one” because of how hard it is to maintain them
Honestly though, in a lot of cases even if its possible to recycle it… if some shmuck isn’t poised to profit off it noone will do it. Maybe I am just a doomer, but it hurts knowing that we have the tools to make such a better world… And instead we’ve built this special little hell in our corner of the universe
To anyone paying attention to the natural progression of capitalism in our society, this should come as no surprise. At every turn we are incentivised to lie, cheat and steal at the detriment of current and future communities. Little will come of this “revelation” and frankly I’m exhausted.
Yes please, I use my quest 2 sparingly but would love a to hit it with custom firmware
I’m going to add my +1 for framework, I got the batch 5 original framework 13 with pop os on it and a windows 10 copy on a 250gb expansion card. Its been my main work and play laptop and I enen replaced the main chassis after it got smashed (long story) involving the sidewalk. Anyway I love what framework is doing and the decision has arguably already paid off within these last two years.
Just say it like it is, we are in the process of triggering major climate tipping points.
There’s a lot we can do in labs, the snag is often when you try to bring it to scale. Regardless, doing this is like trying to clean your lungs while still smoking
My friend there’s no shot. We couldn’t even unify against covid 19. Enjoy what you have while you have it, collapse is already here
Unfortunately I wish I could disagree with you, but I agree- its probably best to make the most of what we have while we have it
I don’t know if youre being facetious or are genuinely unaware of how devastating this is on our natural and societal foundations. The further our climate slips away from the predictable seasons our agriculture was built upon, the increasingly likely our society as we know it runs the risk of abrupt collapse.
One of the best mind bending and heart wrenching video games I’ve played in a long time-Soma
They’re not doing these jobs for fun. These are people that have themselves and their families to care for. Its possible to be mistreated at your job while also needing the income from your job
I suppose that depends on how urgently you need a new computer. I waited several weeks for one of the first releases, but have been using it the last two years and it has been well worth it. I accidentally smashed the case when it slipped out of my bag on concrete and was thankful I got a framework when I was just able to swap it with a new shell of their marketplace within a week
Regardless at the end of the day microsoft is a business. By that fact alone their decisions are dependent on what is best for the company. If and when this deviates from what is best for the consumers, we will learn to regret the acquisition
Cmon, even before the effects of climate change, our influence has currently set off a modern mass extinction that may prove comparable to the Permian wipeout. Without a doubt, even if the changes stopped today, it would take nature thousands of years to undo the changes we’ve cause in less than 200
Where? I haven’t been able to find it
Damn thats some sobering real talk. I don’t know how to drive manual, and frankly you make a strong point about how little point there would be to try
I also agree with this sentiment. I got a used t440p which I used for years in school before upgrading to the framework 13. I still love my old thinkpad, but its now my cheap in home media server. I would agree that old thinkpad are easy to find and a cheap (but still very useable and still to some extent repairable) option for work and school.
