I’ve always been happiest with xfce4-terminal, though I’m using Konsole currently until XFCE fully supports Wayland.
Way back when, I was more than happy with rxvt.

Copilot can’t even suggest a single Ansible or Terraform task without suggesting invalid/unsupported options. I can’t imagine how bad it is at doing anything actually complex with an actual programming language.
I have an email address and shell account on a SCO UNIX system that I’ve had since 1994.
XFS on my server VMs and my laptops and desktops.
ZFS on my file server. I’d use it on my laptops and desktops too (and have done when I was using Xubuntu) but I’ve switched toFedora which doesn’t come with a way to easily install with ZFS and I don’t feel like jumping through hoops to get it done. And I can’t stand btrfs. I don’t know what it is about it, but I just don’t like it.
When someone else has the hiccups, cup your hands together (like you’re about to pour water in them), hold them in front of them and excitedly tell them repeatedly (in a loud-ish, hurried voice like you’re about to miss out on the chance of a lifetime):
" Quick! Hiccup in my hands! Hurry up! Do it! Hiccup in my hands!"
Gotta do it quickly and unexpectedly enough to surprise them. They’ll either be so surprised that they forget the hiccup, or they will actually try to do it but be so focused on it that they won’t be able to.
It’s got a pretty high success rate for when I’ve tried it.
I’m an old fogey who grew up reading physical books and newspapers but I absolutely need dark mode on backlit displays. I despise light mode.
But would it have it have remained left alone long enough to get to the point where the federation and prime directive protected it…
"The avalanche had already begun. It is too late for the pebbles to vote. "
I’ve been using FolderSync (Pro in my case) for many years to sync files (automatically and/or on-demand) from my phone to my Linux server.
AMD GPU just works, no fussing about, get straight to fragging on Xonotic and Counter Strike
Unless you have a monitor that requires HDMI 2.1 to get full resolution/refresh. Then it only works partially.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Linux, and I’ve been using it on my desktops/laptops for almost 30 years at this point.
But there are still issues to deal with on a regular basis, same as Windows or OSX.
Growing up in west Texas, I talked to one uber-Baptist who for some unfathomable reason believed that the Catholics “worship Mary”, therefore they don’t follow the “there is only one God” rule and therefore aren’t Christian.
My speed is garbage whether I just type or use the swipe. Mainly because unlike using an actual keyboard where I can get over 100wpm, I can’t really touch type so I have to constantly switch between looking at the keyboard and looking at the text coming up.
I tried to switch to iOS when my pixel 3xl died. I gave up after 24hrs and bought a Pixel 6Pro.
Every time I tried to do something on the iPhone, or find a comparable app, it either couldn’t be done, or needed an app with an ongoing paid subscription. It was infuriating. Paying one time for an app is one thing. I don’t need to be spending 10s of dollars or a month in perpetuity just to use some apps on my phone when I can get the same functionality free, or for a smaller one time payment elsewhere.
The main point was always portability, and the ability to run NetBSD on basically ANYTHING.
Really only to get notifications of weather stuff from my local NWS office.
It was difficult, but awesome.
I’ll have fallen about 3ft, landing directly on my coccyx on a hard tile floor, causing additional damage to 2 discs in my lower back that I’ve already had worked on twice. There’s almost a 100% chance that this will result in my needing to have those two discs removed completely.
So I really, really hope I don’t get instantly teleported 2 feet to the left while I’m sitting here.
Is there some rule I wasn’t aware of that you must own a home in order to give out candy on Halloween?
At 18, you presumably live SOMEWHERE. Nothing stopping you from giving out candy at that residence.
Note: this is not an endorsement that you shouldn’t be allowed to trick or treat at 18. Simply pointing out that your specific argument is bullshit.
