Often when it comes to international cybercrime and dismantling “secure messaging apps” for drug gangs, Dutch secret services often seem to be involved. So yeah, I think they’ll have ways to get the info they need if needed.
It doesn’t help for Orban the current prime-minister is a former boss of the general secret service.
Agreed, I have a (pre-HP) Samsung laser printer and it works whenever I need it to. Sure, it only works via USB and only has one button and an on/off switch, but it works when needed.
Why’d you go for a US passport considering their globally reaching tax laws?
I’m not sure the tool is the the issue here?
A master carpenter with entry level tools will still do a much better job than a klutz with professional grade tools.
Any curry spiced ketchup, which is popular in Germany and some adjacent countries. Here in the Netherlands “Hela” seems to be the favourite brand, so anything close to that, either supermarket brand, Heinz, or competitors.
Not a fan of plain ketchup though.
I hold no love for investors (even though pension funds rely on them, as shown by the lead plaintiff), but this seems pretty warranted if the company makes claims which are contrary to reality.
It’s a federation of servers with individual communities, so if a server/community is toxic stop participating in it and find or start an alternative. But most communities are tiny to small.

In a lot if countries a thousand million is a milliard and a million million is a billion. But somehow US English skipped the -liard numbers and it’s influencing UK English these days as well.
Why choose these over elastic fabric slip-on shoes?
To paraphrase an answer I read elsewhere: de-orbiting would be like pushing it down from the first step of a long flight of stairs. Pushing it away from Earth would require ascending the long flight of stairs, which is much harder.
MIVD is the military one, usually it’s the AIVD being mentioned when it comes to cybersecurity.
Welcome to tech journalism, which mostly doesn’t employ journalists, nor technologists.
True, since Fairphone’s focus seems to be on fairness in the hardware. I wish they were better on the software side as well.
I don’t recall it was hard to install IodéOS on a Fairphone 4.
Just a passer-by: why a chromebook? Is their hardware less reliant on proprietary software?
Yup, I have one of those. I’m not sure what the exact build year is, but I think it’s from the mid-90s.
I got in 2006 or so from a thrift store and served me ever since.
Running a Fairphone 4 with IodéOS (another de-Googled privacy focused Android) for close to two years now and I agree that it’s a capable phone which doesn’t limit myself in any way.
As you mentioned the biggest downside is the camera, which apparently has something to do with the firmware.
Edit: regarding the headphone situation: I’m using Austrian Audio (=former AKG engineering team) Hi-X25BT headphones, which are noticeably better than pods or cheap headphones and have been running well over a year now. They come with both (mini-)jack to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cables, but I haven’t tried the latter yet.
I’m pretty sure that if you use generative AI to publically embarass Donnie, safeguards will be tightened before one can start and finish the pledge of allegiance.
