freedom of their speech, not ours
did you select the language? that’s what happened to me. had to actually select the language when commenting
there was that one time when the following happened all one after the other
none of these 4 things have ever happened since and certainly not more than 1 at a time. having all 4 in one day must have triggered someone inside me to break
I’m used to using snapdrop but this seems like it might have more robust options
I think the servers don’t know what to do when ads outnumber content 36 to 1
hmm. i dunno if you can but it would make a lot more sense to do it that way. seeing Lemmy stuff on mastodon sucks because comments are individual and don’t make sense out of context.

tldr, it’s actually more private than Reddit in most ways
popularity is actually the solution to this specific problem. as things get more popular they will have been loaded up already.
you’re only able to have this issue at all because it’s new
i don’t know, but i have 2 alternative if it’s not possible
never click “all”
if you don’t have an exhaustive list of instances to block you might be able to find an instance that does block what you want
probably because a hashtag is already a thing that means something else in other apps. making hashtag mean a community here would give it 2 meaning depending on the app and that’s not user friendly cause people will make mistakes if they move between apps.
therefore a new character was chosen for communities to avoid such confusion
since there isn’t any strong way to collect data or advertise it will always be an underdog compared to big business.
that being said, the fediverse could outlast a few mainstream networks and build lasting strength with that. I’m an ideal setting it could become a defacto network over time.
can we get young people coming here though? that’s how we get the tides to turn
I’m thinking that’s how you can refer to your fellow community members
communities, I call them comms for short
they certainly can do that. I wonder if we’ll get to that point where there are SPAM instances that every other instance will need to deal with
I haven’t been keeping up with the updates since they stopped naming them after food. I guess that worked. The numbers have gotten less important and less big changes. I think that’s probably best. just do updates that are needed, etc
this is how Android has been forever. Jellybean was the most popular until around Nougat.
People keeping their phones for a longer time shouldn’t be considered a bad thing. Cheap brands using old versions isn’t good though and that does represent some of the numbers.
loads of people are making their own and doing pretty much this. I’m planning on giving it a try sometime over the summer. should be a fun project that I can actually keep using for a while. maybe even make my own notes or something.
I might explore options to make private content just for myself
don’t human artists also learn by looking at copyrighted material? one of us is missing something
