I remember when you could get a basic house spirit and mixer for $5. I do not look or feel old enough to say that.
Edit: Though until at least up to the big P you could still get a can of shit beer for $5

Ugh… I haven’t been doing as much as I want to. The dishes aren’t finished and the baskets of clean washing are threatening to fall over and crush me

Know the feeling
It’s not good but some people earn it

In a pasta bake sauce or mixed with chocolate for ‘mousse’. Or in vegetable curry
Firmer tofus can be pressed then marinated and fried like meat pieces or chopped to use instead of mince

I’m going to keep an eye on him and the moment something’s not looking right I’ll have to try and get him to the vet.
Best of luck with the missing cat, I hope he gets safely back home

Sorry I did a ninja edit saying he’s also been around here for years (though that doesn’t necessarily mean he couldn’t be neglected or in need of help).
I’ll have a closer look at the colour of the eyes just in case they used to live around my area and ran back or somehow got this far from home. But this visitor cat has a few tiny white hairs like the barest graze of a paintbrush. One brush on top of the head, one on the chest like a locket, and one on the belly.
He or she is quite a large tall cat, has a deep mournful meow but is usually silent, and seems quite comfortable and friendly roaming around and rolling for pats. There isn’t a hanging belly (primordial pouch) and despite their size they look long and very slender. The face/muzzle is more slim with a large square looking nose. Your friends cat has a rounder bigger muzzle with a smaller nose.
I can try to get a good photo of this cat here and give it to you but the cat in the photo doesn’t look the same :(
Edit: If your friend is desperate though I can try to catnap visitor cat to the vet which would allow ID and collection from a shelter if it’s theirs? I just don’t want to risk accidentally kidnapping a neighbour’s cat

I don’t know if it could have reached me where I am and he’s been around a few years but I’m happy to look at the photo.
It’s a black cat with no collar which are hard to tell apart (and I’m actually unsure of gender) but there are a few small distinguishing features.

The black cat is here again! He’s found a comfy spot. I really don’t know whether he just enjoys visiting/has claimed this as his territory from nearby or if he’s a stray that might need help.
I’m reluctant to take him to the vet for a chip scan (if I can even swing it) because this might be someone nearby’s cat. I don’t want to start feeding him because I don’t want to stay here long term. But I do worry a bit and am watching for anything that might indicate he’s not doing ok

I changed my mind about the Kit Kats, please bring back a heated toilet seat

Oh damn hopefully everything is ok! That’s nasty stuff

The coast seemed clear for now so I nipped out to water what plants haven’t died, and saw the black cat come strolling out of a corner where he’d been napping.
Offered him my fingertip for a smoochy rub and patted his head. He seems to be quite comfortable hanging around here and after I went back in to soothe Melbcat he came to the screen door as if he hoped to come inside.
I’m worrying a bit about neglect but I’m really not in a position to adopt a second cat ;-;

It’s all good! Just letting you know there are some people who are legit. You will absolutely know who’s for real because the effects are quite obvious and painful. They may also let you know in advance, bring their own meal, avoid eating or if bad enough avoid gatherings that involve food.
Edit: You have no idea if they’re just stating it ofc but the tone and behaviour around it and how they handle the situation would probably tell you. Just be careful though with giving allergens anyway because even a Karen could still be legit and then you’re dealing with anaphylaxis, diabetic coma, an asthma attack or a code brown
Edit 2: Or rather don’t give allergens anyway

Just fyi fodmaps are a legit food intolerance, they have pretty painful effects on some people.
(However I don’t demand to be catered to or glamorise it and due to the extent of my food intolerances don’t eat with others)

If it tends to be really dry and frizzy you could try a hot oil treatment? I remember there were little tubes sold by VO5 many years ago but they might no longer be around

I used to use the A’kin brand because silicone free, but it’s a bit pricey and has a bit of an earthy sandalwood smell (though not strong).
You could always try slicking it back with a wet comb/dampening it, then rubbing some normal conditioner between your fingers and smoothing that through like product.

A fabric hair band or bandana would smooth it back? You could also slick it back with styling cream or gel. Or leave in conditioner

Melbcat is good to go next week! I’m really hoping that everything goes well 🤞☘️

That sounds so peaceful

I have no idea what’s wrong with this combination. Looks good to me.
Sitting on floor to fold towels comfortably… knock over coffee next to me. Put a towel on it and add another cleaning chore to the list.
