Looks like a lot of us have nose & throat issues today - ears not so much or you’re all keeping quiet about it.

Am providing broad spectrum healing vibes across the DT. And some ⛽ for @rustyraven.

This may well be my second last late shift. My manager is back from leave on Monday so she can provide my reference, and then hopefully new role will start shortly thereafter. I sure as shit hope so. I hate this constant changing of my work hours week to week so much

Bottom Racer, your chili powder smells amazing! Like tomatoes on the vine and rich veggie garden scents.

I tasted a little bit and burned a hole through my tongue. 10/10! Thank you!

All the heart stuff was caused by the nicotine spray I’ve been using to quit smoking. Doesn’t go well with the adhd medication.

    Jesus fucking christ

Reminds me of when I accidentally overdosed on caffeine. Nausea, agitation, heart palpitations. I was feeling really unwell and was just about to go to the doctor when I realised I’d been drinking way too much coffee (just because it was winter and I wanted to keep warm!). I went out and got a teapot and some peppermint tea, knitted myself a tea cosy, and all was well thereafter.

It’s amazing how easy it is to miss when little things turn into big things.

The refinery fire is unfortunate. I hope we don’t have to go to restrictions but I’m not sure the government can encourage people to voluntarily reduce consumption by 10%. Might affect VIC disproportionately because can petrol be redistributed from the other states quickly anyway. Hopefully free public transport is extended, and increase frequencies would be good too.

      Ough

I recently had a chance to have my appliances replaced with electrical ones, but was kind of in the thick of things at the time and couldn’t handle the disruption of having my house gutted.

Perhaps now circumstances have changed I should go back cap in hand…

No impact to domestic gas. Only liquid fuels come out of the Geelong refinery. Specifically the petrol plant was on fire. They say they can still produce diesel but at reduced capacity. Natural gas for homes comes from different sources and processed at gas plant at Longford, so is unaffected. However the cost of running the electric appliances might be cheaper, so could be worth it from that point of view.

Oh that’s a relief. Still not great news for drivers and food prices.

I liked to have gas to resort to for cooking or boiling water when the power was out but bills are getting a bit high

Holiday almost over, spent most of it feeling ick but not properly unwell. Grand renovation and craft plans totally flew out the window. I did achieve some minor gardening (which the possums promptly ate), three Lego sets, and some messing about with chocolate. 'Twill do.

I was able to pair my phone to the JBL today all by myself and now I can turn it up and down using my watch. Instructions are worth reading. Feeling very tech savvy today. 😎

    spoiler

The bags of cat food and meds are still sitting on their doorstep, and right after I got home their cat came to wait on mine wanting to be let in. FFS. I don’t know if they’re even home. Do they feed this animal? Let him inside?

Sent another email telling them I dropped off stuff for their cat and it would be great if they treated him for ringworm as he’s often around wanting to come inside and it’s really contagious. Karen-ish but oh well.

It feels terrible ignoring and avoiding him but I’m trying to prioritise my own health until I’m doing better. Still treating my own lesions and trying to eat enough for them to heal. About to shampoo carpet for a second time. Taking antidepressants. Waiting on grief counseling. Holding Melbcat’s urn. Trying to stay warm and calm. Wondering why everything feels so terrible.

If I had my way I’d leave this area and not interact with anyone or anything again.

Could it be that they use a back door, or drive in out of garage, so haven’t seen the food? Also not everyone checks their emails everyday, so possible they haven’t see your message either. I guess that’s the optimistic view. If not, maybe you can ask them if they still want to keep the cat. Tell them you can organise a rescue org to collect it for them. It’s sad, but some people just hope their cat will go away if they keep putting it outside.

Good news on the meds and grief counselling. You are taking steps to recover even though it’s really hard. Melbcat would have wanted you to be well. Maybe you can look at it that she’s giving you strength from beyond the rainbow bridge. You got this.

I don’t think so, the back is fenced in. Could be they park and walk in tho?

They don’t seem to see a problem with the situation so I may be courting unwanted beef by trying to tell them anything. They said they love him very much so I don’t think they’ll want to give him up. And there are no foster places available through the rescues, I already checked when I thought he was dumped.

I do just want to mind my biz. But this is genuinely causing problems for me because he waits outside, tries to dash in, and follows to rub spores up on you (in addition to seeming really neglected) and I’m being forced to interact with people in order to try and deal with it 😢

        This shit be costing me
