I am very confused by this new platform but I managed to bumble my way here from reddit. Hi DT! I missed you.

I’m very much enjoying the DTs. I was just a lurker over at the old place and it feels lovely to be actively part of this community. Thanks guys! 😊😊😊😊

While I did say earlier it was good to see the DT once again on r/melbourne, I figured it might be best to make an account here on the Aussie Zone so I can read up on happenings over here as well. Hello, once again, !melbourne.

I’m not sure why anyone would want to use the Reddit DT after seeing the content from who is left over there vs here. I kinda don’t want most of them to come over, the vibe here is too good lol

Years ago, I would have been raging against the injustice of this bs. I guess I’m no longer in my youth, cause right now I’m more than happy sitting this one out and just watching from the side lines. Growing up feels strange.

I go to Coles because I love the joint. I love fucking searching for shit that should be there but it’s not. So I have to make a right hand turn into the carpark and there’s some wank coming out trying to make a right hand turn in to my street. He starts beeping. I wind down my window and yell “oi what are you doing mate. You’ve got a stop sign”. His arms start screaming at me. I let the dickhead go because I’m polite and he puts his foot down and nearly takes out the car travelling straight. Urgh fuck me.

I may or may not have bought myself a sausage roll on the way home purely so I’d have something warm in my hands

Today is the day I ask my doctor for a cert for stress leave and I’m so nervous I feel ill. I really want to ask for a full two weeks, but I feel like that’s a lot to ask for just off the cuff. It would be the perfect amount though and I would get to skip my night shift rotation which is desperately what I need.

Tell the doctor what you feel you need. If you are stressed it is from putting your job ahead of your own needs, and you won’t get better by continuing to do the same thing. Better to have the two weeks you need now than have half the time now and four weeks later because you didn’t allow enough time to recover the first time.

When I’ve discussed this with my GP before, they said one week for sever stress might help, but it’s really not enough. Hope your GP takes the same approach and gives you the time you need.

I just discovered Aussie.Zone has a pictures community. I’m going to share some of my favourite Aussie holiday snaps there. It would be nice to get a bunch of photos in there from all over Australia, expecially if they have a bit more local flavour rather than just the aussie landmarks. So I’ve started with some bats from the colony on the Yarra.

I’m on Lemmy.one and noticed this as well, if I understand this correctly,

sometimes if your instance doesn’t recognise the community in search it’s because no one has searched that from your instance before.

It could take a few goes of reloading the page and search again for it to work.

I recently searched for Sydney community from my instance and nothing came up until like the 8th try.
