It took a bit of time for our lady to settle in this time as she’s been away for a year and hates the carrier - bit of hissing and swiping at her human before he left - but nothing a bit of churu knockoff can’t do to lift a kitty’s mood.

First point of order was bathroom, followed by a general investigation, then of course food (while I was rushing around tidying up and making my own dinner) - guaranteed cutest meows whenever food is involved - but I forgot then that I have to keep her out of my room if I open my closet, because she loves hiding in it and refusing to come out and there was more swiping and angry huffs as I tried to coax her out.

She’s pretty settled now though, headbutts and trills and all, and keeps coming back to sit on/near my socks, so I feel rather honoured 😌

She has definitely become sassier this time around, thought I’d put treats in one of her toys but it was just normal dry food and she went from super excited to instantly cold and uninterested and even hissed at me later when my leg inadvertantly brushed against her… but then she followed me into the bedroom and has been going in and out and I later heard her merrily crunching on the dry food. and she randomly mrrps at me and probably wants to play but It Is Sleepytime Now. Tomorrow I shall try and wear out some of her energy after work.

Her tail is so gorgeous too. Medium-haired cats are the best. Not too long to need frequent grooming, but that much more luxurious than a short-haired kitty

We had one like that when we were kids - smooth and silky on top and fluffy underneath. Kitty lived to 22 years old - brainless (for a cat) but beautiful.

I’m just happy that she remembers this place! I realise it needs a good dust and vacuum though… poor girl is sneezing in one particular corner.

First night in a long time that I’ve had the door and some windows open at night to cool down the house a bit.

Got a bit shitty at work over being lectured about fucking image formatting (fuck Word, seriously) but got over it thoroughly by (a) having walked to work and back - big tick, (b) absolutely SMASHING through the backlog, and © clocking off on the dot - because I have much more important things to attend to very shortly! Everyone else can fuck off!

Also managed to survive nearly getting collected by some fuckwit speeding through Kew Junction after the cars finished turning, a good 20 seconds after the lights had changed and I was halfway across the pedestrian crossing. People do be getting stuck in dumb situations there. No death for me today, though - thanks, but nothing will get in the way of hosting my VIP guest!

Got home in time to do some last minute gardening (now). How good is it having the sun still up when I get home. Home - which has been nicely aired through all windows during the day. It’s a great feeling.

Second interview went… okay. I definitely fumbled some questions and repeated myself a lot. But the interview ended with talk of what’s next, etc, so at least it wasn’t a “okay, thanks for coming in, see you around” sort of end. Fingers crossed for a call either way quickly.

I’m sure you did fine, everyone gets nervous and fumbles a bit in interviews, it’s to be expected and is fine. End of interview is promising!

That’s true - I consciously remembered that it’s okay to pause and think about responses instead of just blurting things out, so I’m proud of myself for that.

It sounds like you did well, try not to stress too much on repeating yourself :)

The worst case is actually still a best case scenario - consider this a practice interview and write some notes about how you wish to articulate yourself next time. I found it helps to write what I did well, and what I did not do so well. And looking up common interview questions and writing answers in the STAR format helps with memory retention too when you’re put on the spot in an interview.

I’m sure you did great! Fingers crossed for you!!

Whilst I prefer the red trike as it’s pretty stable with a lot of weight at the back, it is currently out of commission so the new shopping goon and snack mobile (for now) is the unicorn basket bike:

Doubt the kids are going to laugh at me now.

“Can I have a chip”… “No”. “Can you buy us some booze”?.. “No”.

last nights’ go at the SMC

Didn’t realise the dew was gonna be so bad so only used 12 x 5mins exposures instead of the 24 I took. Shit happens. Will probably end up using only 4 and will have to take another bunch another night. Good to see the equipment still works though.

    Today’s weeding done:

About 3x that to go FML.

I’m going to have to ninja it into other people’s green bins at 3am for a few consecutive bin nights (they won’t mind).

I believe (I think) they’re flatweed/catsear, fleabane and buffalo grass. The reason I’m doing it manually is the old man will rock up and put a shitload of dicamba / glyphosate on which I can’t get behind.

broad leafed plant that has flowers that look like a cross between a daisy and a dahlia, that one that sometimea gives you lil pink daisies but more often just looks like it’s gonna flower but never seems to do so and that grass that looks like the fake shit woolies used to have on their fresh food displays

My leg still ouchies from yesterday’s morning cramp so that’s fun.

Also I went to woolies for cat supplies (only thing I still get from there) and the chemist for me supplies and ended up spending $180. I miss when $180 was a lotta fucking money to me

I don’t know why my split system does this but I can’t change it from heating to cooling.

To get around it I have to go into my bed room and set that one to either heating or cooling with a remote then walk back into my living room and using that remote turn on the system and it’ll be set to whatever setting I used in the bed room.

If I try and directly move from heating and cooling the split system will double beep at me and won’t switch or turn on.

    Frustrating to say the least.
