Two years out from the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Los Angeles officials say security requirements could displace hundreds of unhoused people living around competition venues during the summer of 2028. But there’s no plan for how those people will be relocated, where they’ll go, or who will pay for it.
It’s solid NPR disinfo how they ask this question in the headline like it’s some mystery… then the answer is clearly NO in the first paragraph.
You put em on a bus and send them to other cities. It’s what Seattle did before the World Cup.
Magically a week later and all the usual homeless campsites filled back up.
I was going to comment the same thing. We happened to be in Seattle during the World Cup and it was starkly different. I think we only saw maybe 2 or 3 homeless people the entire weekend
It’s a few hundred people in giant LA, no they would just move a few blocks over.
What’s the plan?

The only time the US thinks about homeless people is when they think about how to make them go somewhere else. Why would anyone even insinuate that there might be a plan? As far as anyone is concerned, the fact that they’ll be displaced is the plan, and it’s a great bonus from the Olympics on top of the tourism.
You cannot displace someone who does not have a place. They are planning to eradicate people. Call it what it is.
What’s the plan? The plan is to displace the homeless.
Not that I agree with it, but isn’t this “normal”. The only plan for homeless is “not here”
Personally I’m hoping the US collapses and the Olympics gets cancelled or otherwise the state shuts it down. Mostly cause it’d be funny.
